@Nonilex Full disclosure: Just today I helped my 26 yo son sign up for an ACA plan that has a $10,600 deductible.
I told him this is just so he’s covered in the event he has an accident or illness that puts him in the hospital for a long time.
Otherwise, he’s on his own. (Of course, we’ll help if we can.)

After that, in the absence of any congressional action, the annual open enrollment period will be over for people signing up through the federal marketplace, & most people may have to wait until next year to enroll.

Most #Republicans are vehemently opposed to the #AffordableCareAct, which was implemented in 2014 during the #Obama admin, but they have been unable to coalesce around a plan to replace it. A small group of Republicans from swing districts, alarmed about the political consequences of allowing the subsidies to expire, had been urging Johnson to allow a vote on allowing them to continue, at least temporarily.
After a closed-door morning meeting with Republicans, Johnson ruled out such a vote.
