After almost 3 years in #Finland I finally got myself an Arabia Moomin characters mug to press my coffee into 😊

Te reason for stalling is that these things are expensive! This one was 12.5€ on something like 40% sale, they usually cost 20-25€
But now I'm one step further in the integration journey 😂

I'm going to commit coffee heresy and say that the Moka Pot is better than the Aeropress for travel. No need to bring filters or a water boiler, and the coffee it makes is just as good. I've brought the Aeropress and forgot my filters too many times. It also doesn't pack that well because of it's awkward shape. I guess that's why they want you to buy the Go. The only downside of the Moka Pot is that you have to wait for it to cool down before you can clean it. :welp:

@foone Not sure if that counts as technology: #Aeropress Go Plus. It‘s an aeropress coffee maker with all parts contained in an insulating mug. I wanted this to exist for more than a decade for travelling. This Monday I learned that it exists and I immediately ordered it.

I guess targeted advertising for things I have been thinking about for a while must be extremely effective. Just invent what I want and have been thinking about and I will buy it without much consideration.

With a recommendation from the “Kahve Demleyen Yazılımcılar” group under AYA, I bought Colombia Carambo beans from Tone Coffee Roastery in Istanbul for filter/Aeropress brewing. SCA 85 score, light roast. It was my first time brewing an SCA-scored, light roast bean with an Aeropress.

Man… It smells intensely like fermented fruit wine and vanilla, and there’s none of that bitterness I’ve experienced with so many other brands. I’ve seriously been brewing garbage for months…

Did some #bike workshop today and if you're as neglectful towards your hands as me and don't wear gloves when you working on your bikes, you end up with oily hands.

Old #coffee grinds with a bit of washing up liquid are great for this.

This video was part this morning's #aeropress puck and me washing them in real time.

Not perfect clean in video so took a second wash but you can see how much it's got off. No need to buy hand scrub which may have chemicals etc.

EDIT: I've been corrected + done a search that COFFEE GRINDS ARE BAD FOR DRAINS - I've never had any trouble but this was 8 grams of coffee and I probably only do this 3 to 6 times a year, thus never enough to accumulate any issues over the issues over the years I've done this. In future, I'll wash my hands to catch run off in a bucket rather than allowing it to drain. Thanks to @trouble for pointing this out.
