  1. Lettuce seedlings die as soon as I transfer them to net cups. Other plants don't, It's just the lettuces. Any advice? How to strengthen lettuces before transferring or support them right after that? I'm losing dozens for every surviving one.

  2. #Garden plans made, going into my raised beds: potatoes, parsnips, beetroot, celeriac, sweetcorn, tomatoes and Brussel sprouts. I was going to try courgettes in some pots due to space.

Also thinking of doing a #hydroponic experiment again this year, last year I tried #aeroponics but might try a hydroponic wall with lettuce etc.

  3. Potatoes are no longer just underground crops! At a Haryana institute, scientists are growing potatoes in mid-air using aeroponics — a soil-free method that prevents disease and boosts seed production. 4. What are those holes? Are those from pests?

No, it's expanded clay marks. Turns out that if you naively pack the expanded clay balls in a planting cup for #aquaponics #hydroponics or #aeroponics, the plant can suffocate and die. This is how it looks like when it happens. That's why my book recommended adding some coco fibers or other soft filler material to the cups. I ignored it.

  5. Plants can be biofortified with #vitaminB12 using #aeroponics to contain recommended daily doses. Being common foods, #biofortified crops align with dietary habits & cultural preferences. This helps promote #sustainable dietary change: quadram.ac.uk/plant-powered-in #diets #nutrition
