Edit: solved! "Memo pins" or "label pins".
Help please, my usually elite search skills are failing me. Do you know the name for a type of stationery pin that ends in a paperclip? So like a pushpin that can hold a small piece of paper. See diagram.
I have used these in the past for annotating a map on a corkboard

Hey #makers what material would you use for this project?
I want to make a set of lawn poetry, like magnetic fridge poetry but with non-magnetic and bigger pieces to play on the ground outside with friends.
I want it to be big enough to read off the ground while standing, and light enough to easily bring to picnics. Looking at the magnetic sets, I am guessing I will make 400-500 word tiles (ranging from "a" to e.g., "bedazzled")

Possibly silly thought: hey d and d folks, do you have special words for different types of fatigue or low stats? Like are there names for having low stamina vs low strength vs having to expend energy slowly vs taking a long time to recover?
Because I think I'm not the only chronically ill person who would be very interested in your vocab.

Any chooms got some 3D printing advice?
I have a bedslinger (Sovol SV06 ACE, PLA), and any lower profile prints have been perfect, but I wanted to try this cool paper-holding rat to print for my son, and I have tried 3 times and it comes loose from the bed near the top of the print. Of course then it just air prints.
Things I have tried:
- Cleaning the bed with 96% ethanol (I do that before each print anyway)
- Using hairspray on the bed
- Increasing the first layer thickness
- Adjusting the z-offset for more squish
- Adding a skirt of 8mm
- Checking all the temp settings: bed 60C, first layer 210C print temp 200C (as specified on the PLA spool)
I'm using orcaslicer, I think the one thing that's left to try is reducing the print speed, but I hoped that wouldn't be needed...Maybe there is a way to slow the print as you get further up? Or maybe because I'm such a n00b I missed something obvbious

#gardening #AdvicePlease : I have added 9 raised beds of various shapes to my back yard over the years, but the paths are still grass and maintaining them drives me nuts. What are your preferred path materials? Aiming for something low maintenance that supports soil health and works in the Pacific Northwest. Wood chips?

I need more enrichment in my chronic illness enclosure. Please recommend me your fave documentaries? Do not have to be streaming, can be weird, should be lefty-compatible.
High value topics: art, diy, gardens, computer history, disability, people's history, politics, own voices, queer stuff, science + nature...
Less interested: war, US politics, boomer music, serial killers...

:mastodon_oops: I am struggling to get our small, rural Makerspace in order. With a few people using all the tools and materials it gets out of hand very quickly... :earth:
Any of you operate a small space like that, how do you cope with the chaos? It gets to me sometimes :acab:

I want to update my tech setup at home. Currently my desktop directly connects to two monitors via displayport, as well as my keyboard, mouse, and speakers.
Now I want to have a KVM of some description so I can connect a Zenbook via Thunderbolt to connect to the same hardware (desktop doesn't have thunderbolt, fyi).
Does anyone have any recommendations?

Wise people of Mastodon!
As part of moving the organising of our side off Facebook we want to set up an email list that goes to all our members, and that members of the list can send to, with minima admin and minimal cost.
Groups.io has been mentioned. Any other thoughts/recommendations/advice on the options from people who know about these things would be gratefully received so I can report back and we can decide how to proceed.
