One thing which really gives me pleasure doing boxes or CTFs is that there is so many different knowledge coming together. Sometimes I can feel my brain light up. (I wish I could get a fMRI of it ;) ).
Doing it in a group is also awesome, because everyone has different ideas and ways to think. So much fun :) (But I'm way too uncomfortable just joining a group of unknown people on Discord or so. Lucky for me I'm part of a small team.)

It is Done. I have completed #adventofcyber and picked up this shiny badge! Overall I found it easier for me this year than last and I am happy I stuck with it. I need to think about my goals for this type of learning in 2025.

Life got in the way of me finishing my #adventofcyber up today. Being I am doing for fun, I am not stressing and hope to finish tomorrow or Thursday.
Normally I would be a bit upset at myself but I also completed a full 24 hour pathway on TryHackMe in addition to the Advent stuff so I feast before finishing.
Kind of a surreal Xmas, it has the elements of Xmas but it seems far away. Better than most holidays for me but something seems different.

Another year, another #adventofcyber. Next year I think I'll focus on the SANS #HolidayHackChallenge instead. I did one a few years ago, and I found it a bit more applicable to my skills and a lot more fun/educational. Not knocking the #tryhackme peeps at all - it was great, but I'm just not getting as much out of it as I thought I would. I'd still strongly recommend it for folks new to cyber though, especially on the defensive/blue side.
