I saw one post saying that (assuming you think you do have Advanced View running) you need to go into Preferences, turn *off* Advanced View, turn Advanced View back *on*, and --> Save <--

Saving would seem not to need mentioning, but it was emphasized in the post I saw

I love the #Mastodon #advancedView, but I wish you could pin arbitrary columns. Currently, if you have a thread open in a column, and you click on another message anywhere (including a different column), it goes to replace the thread. If you could pin the thread column it would open a new thread column.

Oh huh! I hadn't realised that it *IS* possible to have an additional hashtag search column without actually following it. (Following the tag would clutter your normal Home timeline.) Do not click Follow for the tag but instead open Settings for the column and Pin it, then Settings again to add other tags if you want. An example I recorded:

Trying out again the #AdvancedView on #Mastodon in #WebVersion on an #IpadAir3.

Absolutely love the columns in the #AdvancedView of Mastodon on the web but PLSSSSSSSS let me re-organise the columns <3

Is there a way to set the advanced view columns so they automatically refresh to the newest posts?
I mean, I *can* scroll all the way back up, but suspect I'm missing a trick.

For those trying to find out how to add extra columns and filters to Advanced Web View.

1) Filter for hashtag in the search bar
2) Click on the required tag
3) Expand the settings for the column
4) `Pin` the column
5) Click the ... in the new column
6) Customise the search for adding/removing extra tags.
