  1. "These [Alzheimer's Disease Research] Centers also train the next generation of researchers to treat patients with #Alzheimer’s disease and help families manage symptoms and cope."

I've spoken at many #ADRCs & am devastated that 14 will run out of funding at the end of April. 47 & his henchmen should look in the mirror & study their face. They may not remember it at some point & their sadism will ensure that there will be no hope for them, loved ones, & #caregivers.

  3. The #NIH supports the work done by the #NIA (National Institute of Aging), which runs #ADRCs (Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers).

Here is a list of them. Their research is now vulnerable to the malevolence and idiocy of #MAGA. nia.nih.gov/health/clinical-tr

This pause -- or freeze or whatever the scions of death are calling it -- on research is quite literally a death knell.

  5. It's hard to believe that the #memoir I wrote with #neurologist Dr. Bruce Miller turns 2 next month. In the hopes of sharing our experience and knowledge, we have been doing outreach at #ADRCs (Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers), podcasts (#Nocturnists, #Dementia Matters, et al), and presentations at #senior residences. Shortly after the book came out, #JohnsHopkinsUniversityPress invited us to talk about why we wrote the book. Here's what we said: press.jhu.edu/newsroom/finding

  7. #ADRCs (there are 33 Alzheimer's Disease Research Centers in the US) do amazing scientific and clinical work. Many have extraordinary outreach programs. #neurologist Bruce Miller of #UCSF and I have had a chance to talk about our #litstudies and #medhum collaboration with #UWisconsin. Most recently we spoke at #UMich. Here is a youtube link to our presentation. We talked about #stigma, representations of #dementia, #empathy, #grief, #caregiving, et al. #EndAlz.
