The fire is displaying active behavior, including flanking and backing spread, with wind-driven runs pushing the head of the fire through receptive fuels. On the flanks, the fire is moving laterally across the landscape, while backing fire is progressing slowly downslope or against the wind with low flame lengths. However, gusty winds are contributing to intermittent runs, increasing the rate of spread and potential for growth in exposed areas. Firefighters are working to hold containment lines and slow progression, especially in areas where shifting winds and terrain may influence fire movement.
