On drug tests for SNAP: “Such changes - even when they exist only as policy proposals - reinforce the notion that the poor must be closely policed in the use of public funds, more so than other beneficiaries of tax dollars. We do not demand drug tests of homeowners taking a mortgage deduction”

Health itself is a factor that matters to our ability to deal with #AdministrativeBurden. People who experience poorer mental & physical heath are more likely to report greater administrative burden, and less likely to take up benefits as a result. As health problems accumulate, these problems get worse.
