Adjusting…

...challenging, but worth it! Since Wednesday, April 22nd, my life has had a major change... He's a fluffy brown piranha, although his fluff is already slowly changing into more rough hairs. As I start writing this, he's been with me for two weeks. And, as you may have been following on this blog here, it's been a challenging two weeks for sure. I knew I had to change my routine. I knew that life as I knew it would be put on hold for a while. Koa was coming into a new home. Away from his siblings. Away from the familiar sounds and smells. And now, there was someone else caring for him, giving him rules that didn't make sense to him. Expecting things from him... Not at first, but as time goes by, they expect him to learn and adjust... 🐾 Our first week together ❤️

I've started writing this post on Sunday, our fourth day together. As most of you will know, Koa came to live with me last Wednesday, April 22nd. The first week, we sure had our challenges. Me, getting to know Koa better. Koa, learning about his new environment, and all the new rules... Me😎, adjusting my routine as much as I can to suit Koa's better. And of course Koa, needing to adapt to the routine that I think he needs for now... Of course I tried to take snaps and vids. Sometimes it can be harder, because it's just me, so no one that can capture some moments where I am interacting with my little dude. 😊 Koa doesn't like resting a lot, he likes to practice his Pavarotti sounds, especially during the night... I keep hoping that I'm doing right by him, but even after two previous Labradors, I still wonder at times if I shouldn't be doing things differently... Especially when Koa is singing 🎤 the song of his people, it just hurts me to hear him in distress like that. Even when I know I've cared for him, all his needs have been met, and it's the idea of "resting" that's upsetting him... This will be a longer "visual-style" post, with a mix of pictures and videos from Koa's first week in his new home... 🏡 […]
