Watching Mrs. Playmen on Netflix. This show is the perfect kick I needed to get back into Italian—it's been almost 2 years, but this is way better than a textbook!
It’s the incredible true story of Adelina Tattilo in 1970s Roma. Her husband, a philanderer & spineless wonder, ghosted her after leaving the magazine drowning in debt. But Adelina? She stepped up and took charge. I adore this lady's strength and respect how she took responsibility.
She brilliantly reinvented Italy's scandalous Playmen. It wasn't just soft-core: she used it as a groundbreaking platform to push hard-core feminist ideas about divorce, abortion, and women’s rights in a deeply conservative country. What a boss move.
The fight was real: she even caused a global scandal by publishing nude paparazzi photos of Jackie Kennedy Onassis. She was a defiant queen who refused to fail.
A must-watch if you love true stories about women who challenge the rules.

No, tasteful this is not. Just one more reason to love @internetarchive.
Read Playdux - Storia erotica del Fascismo, an anti-fascist ditty from 1973, published by Italy's Hugh Hefner, Adelina Tattilo. With her Playmen, she launched the career of multiple actresses, such as Ornella Muti and Lilli Carati. Oh, and pre-kidnapping John Paul Getty III.
