@killyourfm I believe @ActionRetro was able to run #AdelieLinux on a very similar computer.

@ActionRetro has several videos demonstrating modern Linux on late-PowerPC-era Macs. I think #adelielinux is the best bet, currently.
Otherwise, #OpenBSD and #NetBSD will certainly run on it. (:

Wanted to try #AdelieLinux on my old AMD K6, but despite the requirements are met the X-Server does not start.
Tried with a Matrox G400 and a GeForce2...

Today I ran a moden linux distro on a computer from 2003, I was able to run neofetch on it and compile some basic c++ programs. Sadly I was unable to get Doom and XFCE to run yet. #adélielinux #linux #cplusplus #retrocomputing

Unforutnately, I've had to give up on #AdelieLinux for our old first-generation #MacMini - but I am now installing #Debian PPC Port 11.5 on there ;)
I'm wondering why I didn't have the success @ActionRetro did. Must be an expired certificate or something :/

Try as I might, I can’t get #AdelieLinux on my G4 Mac mini. Even tried changing the installer to allow unsafe stuff.
Maybe I’ll try in a few days…

Totally blaming @ActionRetro for this, but I've been trying to get Adelie Linux running on a G4 Mac Mini today. Nearly there... Promise.

Adélie Linux.
In BETA phase now, already intriguing.
Based on "GNUless" Alpine Linux, but aiming for common desktop use. Userland instead of GNU Core: BusyBox.
For C standard library, it uses musl, instead of GNU glibc.
"We do believe that Linux should be usable by anyone, regardless of income level or past computer experience. We don't believe that Linux has to be hard to use."
Eye on this one.
