  1. I just realized the #SimpleLogin Android app hasn't had an update in quite a while (years).
an entirely different story with #Addyio app... interesting

  3. Looks like the bad guys are using the email addresses harvested from the #CondéNast / #WIRED #breach. I just received this #phishing email on an #Addyio email address I've never used for anything else. I'll be deactivating the email address, of course.
I like #Addyio, but there's one important feature it's missing: I really wish they would implement an integration with #HaveIBeenPwned.

  8. #TechIsShitDispatch
I tried to subscribe to a newsletter on #Beehiiv using a privacy-protecting #Addyio address. Beehiiv lets me subscribe, or at least seems to. It even lets me sign up for a paid subscription under that email address and happily takes my money. But I'm not actually receiving the newsletter, I can't edit my profile to add my name, and I can't comment on the newsletter's posts on the web; it says I need to log in to comment despite the fact I'm already logged in.

  17. #1Password is integrated with only one email masking service, Fastmail. In contrast, Bitwarden has integrations with numerous services, including the one I use, #Addyio. Until 1Password gets around to adding an integration with Addy.io (which I'm not holding my breath for; people have been asking for this for a while), I guess I have to use the separate Addy.io extension for this. Definitely not a great UX.

  22. #Vivaldi wouldn't allow me to use an anonymous #Addyio email address as the recovery address for my Vivaldi account. This is rather unfortunate for a browser which claims to be privacy-focused!

  27. For what it's worth, in terms of my own personal #OpSec, I do subscribe to a few newsletters on #Substack, but I won't give any of them money even though I would if they weren't on Substack, and I use a separate, anonymized email address (from #Addyio) for each one, so neither Substack nor anyone else can build a profile of me based on what I subscribe to. This is why I knew immediately, when Jaime Harrison spammed me through Substack, that I hadn't subscribed: he used my real address.
