I'm slowly going about remastering 8 tracks from a band I did 2 records with. The guitarist, J, and I were good friends back in the day, but we drifted a bit. I hope to let him hear these when I'm done.

As I mentioned in a post last night, these mixes never made the record (reasons), but wouldn't it be cool to release some sort of "Previously unreleased mixes" version? Either online or on a CD.

I have a totally unreasonable urge to buy an old #ADAT machine to record playlists to and let them run forever.

@nielso @patricklang I use a #rme #fireface UFX with an ADI-8 DS MkIII connected via #adat and can use 18 input channels with #pipewire. I have heard that other people have problems with RME on #linux, but for me it works like a charm.

@x42 Thanks for sharing! Interesting. You know, I personally love what e.g. #rme are doing. They provide all sorts of apps for #windows and #macos, but offer the option to use their interfaces solely via the #hardware and without any drivers with a #usb #classcompliant mode too. You miss a bunch of channels that way, but I even extended my #interface with 8 additional #microphone inputs via #adat and couldn't be happier with how it performs on #linux. #linuxaudio
