  3. Inclusion in Action at Constitution Beach! 🌊♿

☀️ Today I attended one of my favorite summer events, Triangle, Inc.’s annual Beach:Accessibility Day in East Boston!

🗣️ Hear directly from Triangle, Inc. CEO Rachel Kaprielian on why community-focused, family-friendly events like this—bringing beach wheelchairs, accessible kayaking with Piers Park Sailing Center, and real community connection to Constitution Beach—are so vital.

Thank you to Triangle, Inc., Save the Harbor/Save the Bay, the DCR Universal Access Program , and everyone who came together to make this special day happen! 🙌🏽

  8. ACB’s Cindy Hollis recently hit the lanes at the Michigan Blind Bowlers Association state tournament! She competed in both the team and individual events and rolled an impressive high score of 139 with an overall average score of 89.

In this video, Cindy steps up with a red ball, takes four confident steps, and sends it down the lane with a smooth release. The ball curves slightly from right to left, connecting with the 6 and 10 pins for a clean hit.

  17. I am confirmed for first sailing session of 2026 season with #AbleSailVictoria - May 6th! ⛵️
Able Sail Victoria is part of Able Sail Canada - nonprofit organization that offers subsidized #AdaptiveSailing for #PeopleWithDisabilities.
I missed almost all of 2025 season & keen to get on the waters more often, this season.

This year, I'll be learning more on the Sonar since I'm already very familiar with the Martin 16 sailboats. I'll also be sailing out of Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club more often. I only sailed out of RVYC Cadboro Bay area in past couple of years with Able Sail program. I also signed up for their new subsidized CANSAIL certification program, in August. That program will be run out of RVYC only. I want to get certification to be able to compete in a future Mobility Cup regatta 😀

Also: Able Sail Victoria is getting behind the movement afoot to bring the #MobilityCup to the West Coast in 2027! #VictoriaBC has hosted the event at the Canadian Forces Sailing Association’s marina in the past and hopefully, this or another venue will be available to us in the near future!

  22. 📢 April is Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month (LLLDAM) — a time to celebrate resilience, share experiences, and raise awareness for the 5.6 million people across the U.S. who have limb loss or limb difference.

We're excited to spotlight The Power of Sports for Amputees. This award-winning short documentary follows the journeys of three people living with limb loss as they reclaim identity, confidence, and purpose through adaptive sports. New at Journeys in Film!

Our Bell Ringer / Mini Discussion Guide explores the framing of ability and disability, the healing power of sports, obstacles and access in adaptive sports, and inclusion and belonging in the workplace. It’s great for community building and inclusion! For grades 7-12, adult/higher ed.

  32. My #DisabledSailing association, #AbleSail Victoria secured a funding grant from #SailCanada & now can offer a CANSAIL 1 course at Royal Victoria Yacht Club. I signed up this morning for training in August.
Once I successfully complete CanSail 1, I can take their Can Sail 2 course. These will help me reach my adaptive sailing dreams of competing in a future Mobility Cup regatta.

Very grateful for all funding grants & donors for helping Able Sail Victoria with monies needed to keep their programs running. Disabled folks like me wouldn't be able to afford participating if the programs weren't highly subsidized.

  37. The Invictus Games are underway in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia. Town & Country magazine has this quick rundown of the adaptive sports competition for wounded service members and veterans, Prince Harry's connection, and how some of the athletes feel about it. “Considering my injury, for a long time, I felt very powerless and invisible,” Major Joanna Labonté says. "I feel like they’re shining a light on us — the military members who have struggled, who have felt a lot of uncertainty in our future. And they're saying ‘Your journey is just beginning, it’s not over. Yes, you’re releasing from the military, but you’re just beginning this brand new phase of your life. And you matter.’”
