I wanted to test the #browser extension #AdNauseam and was even prepared to temporarily disable #uBlock and #uMatrix for it. However, I couldn't comply with the warning to disable the browser's own #tracking because #Librewolf doesn't offer that option. So, that was the end of that extension. (btw: it's hard to imagine Google would approve of this add-on.)
But if anyone's curious…

Ich wollte die #Browser Erweiterung #AdNauseam testen und war dafür sogar bereit, kurzzeitig #uBlock und #uMatrix zu deaktivieren. Die Warnung, ich solle das Browser eigene #Tracking ausschalten, konnte ich jedoch nicht erfüllen, weil das bei #Librewolf nicht vorgesehen ist. Somit war die Erweiterung auch schon Geschichte. (btw: schwer vorstellbar, dass Google mit dem Addon einverstanden ist)
Falls aber jemand neugierig ist…

@kuketzblog wenn man Tracking und Fingerprinting nicht verhindern kann, vielleicht den umgekehrten Weg gehen und mit #Adnauseam die Daten unbrauchbar machen?

Sadly, https://adnauseam.io/ doesn't seem to work with @thunderbird ; I don't even get an error or a warning about being unable to install the .xpi file.

Giving AdNauseam https://adnauseam.io a try, as I both hate ads with the white-hot rage of 1000 suns and also like the idea of poisoning their data. I wonder if it works in Thunderbird, too?

@ImmerNurRichtung @kreideland Eine Anekdote: Bei uns war mal meine Schwägerin da und nach einer Weile war sie "aufgebracht" weil sie ihren Blog pflegen wollte - und es nicht ging. Sie hatte ein kleines Minieinkommen mit Adsense-Werbung. Aber Adsense war im Haus geblockt.
Habe ihre gesagt, sie kann einfach direkt Google als DNS eintragen, hat sich auch gemacht. Wer hat schon sein Surfverhalten zu verbergen. Ich selbst nutze "Adblocker" wie #adnauseam

As someone who used to spend a lot of time with ROI-obsessed bean counters controlling, well, every budget on 🌎, hear me out: Make the magic conversion metrics plummet and you kill the main incentive driving companies not only to slurp up everyone’s data, but also to keep you addicted to maximise the chances of you clicking on an ad. Turn Google’s, Meta’s, and X’s own game against them.

In case anyone else was having the same issue...
Problem: Youtube pages load everything but the video (see example).
Cause: You have the AdNauseam extension installed.
Solution: Put "https://www.youtube.com/*" on your "Trusted Sites" list, as per the second image. The trailing asterisk is necessary; that makes it affect the entire site, not just the home page.

Sometimes I'm even getting larger 'stacks' of lines from separators between 'promoted' content on #LinkedIn. Thanks to customer filters in #AdNauseam or @ublockorigin these can be blocked. (Too bad I haven't been able to block 'suggested' content, yet).

That's quite the approach. Besides increased bandwidth usage, seems like a legit approach to jamming the signal:
