The hive gets nasty. "Yoo came here have hive change mind? It purpose of hive! Yoo obey!" I'm always disquieted by how our paleolithic pals can be just so thoroughly disturbing. Neurotypical people starting a new hobby: "Yeah, I bought a starter kit and a couple basic tools, nothing fancy."
Autistic people hyperfixating on said new hobby: "I've got a storage unit full of every kind of tool I could ever need, and several copies of most of them. I have also meticulously studied this subject for dozens of hours. I have at least two notebooks filled with information, colour coded for easy access."

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 1003 , Monday 27/07/2026
Monday started early, it being a gym day.
Why are Mondays always a struggle! (Prolly all the naught food I have over the weekend & the fact that I still don’t have a set exercise regimen at home - but don’t tell anyone else that!).
After breakfast & a few chores Mrs S & I went across to my late MiL’s house - Mrs S to sort thru some bowls & crockery in the kitchen & me to tackle my late FiL’s garage. So many tools!
I have made a start, but it will take at least 2 more trips to finish the job I think!
We stopped off at Sainsgogs for a late lunch - their meal deal was just what we needed, quick but filling. Then home.
Relaxed this afternoon finishing the latest series of ‘For all Mankind’. I do like that show.
Salad & roast chicken breasts for tea with strawberries & ice cream for pud while we continued our journey thru the original series of ‘All Creatures Great & Small’ they really do not make TV like that any more (the new version is good but not as good as the original with Christopher Timothy! )
Final Thoughts.
A busy day & looking at the garage it does not look like I have made too much progress, but progress has been made!
Somehow I have to find some room for the tools I plan to keep! I also need to find a good home for those that I will never use!

"I like chonk." shouldn't mean that lanky deserves brutality & sexual abuse. I know the USA is a land of absolute tribal binaries, but this is yet another that goes too far. I'd hope we'll see less. But we won't. No, it'll take a lot more barbarism before someone gets just fucked up enough.

Sonnie would be the villain for being lanky and lacking beachballs, an American audience would believe she deserves the things that happen to her—including bloody brutality and sexual assault. There's no point in denying it as it's too ingrained at this point, and please don't be unwell enough as to try to justify it.

[P] These villains are often depicted as requiring violence. And who metes out this bloodthirsty, barbaric violence? Meatheads. There's a laundry list of instances many times longer than I am tall, it'e gotten eo bad that I can't ignore it anymore. It's why the first episode of Love, Death, and Robots—Sonnie's Edge—is so memorable because it calls this misogynistic taint out, reveals it for the diseased thing it is.

[P] I'm noticing a disturbing trend in American media, one that's bren growing over the last decade. There isn't just fatphobia anymore, there's a growing phobia of lankiness too. It seems to have a link to misogyny. And the only way to offset it is if there are two beachball orbs attached. Any lankiness sans beachballs is strictly prohibited. It's a disturbing trend as lankiness is attributed to villainy.

I have seen The Accountant 2. I take issue with quite a few things in the film.
For one, Chris is much better at masking eight years on, functioning well without any of his previous routines and hardly any stimming to speak of. He also does almost no accounting. If that sounds like all the stuff that made his character interesting in the previous film is gone, that's because, for the most part, it is.
Secondly, The Accountant's tech support team has expanded, adding four child soldiers to the firm, under the leadership of Chris's nonverbal partner Justine. Each child specializes in one discipline. The same one. Hacking... Maybe "specializes" was the wrong word.
Thirdly, the series has eschewed any broad interest in autism in favor of a focus on savants. While disappointing on a personal level, it's downright troubling on a more general level, where every savant can be seen committing great physical harm or injustice upon others without batting an eye.
All that being said, the most important aspect of the first film, to my mind, was the family dynamics that come with autism, and that is the main focus here. Chris's relationship with his brother Braxton is excellently written and portrayed, as is the difficulty Chris has in attempting to start his own family.
In an attempt to increase mass market appeal and build a franchise, much of what made the original Accountant film interesting has been lost in the sequel, but it's not a complete write-off. I do hope for another, better installment.

Is there a consensus about if #DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) is more/less likely to be effective/harmful among #actuallyautistic populations than generally?
I've heard nothing but good things in the context of BPD, but given the massive misdiagnosis rate among autistic women I'm curious how much of that might be accidentally helping with autism-related stuff.
