AND she also states that in there, in this comedy piece, the being-honest-even-if-it-sounds-like-a-joke, so, it really is severe and nobody will be able to say in whatever-period-of-time "oh, i haven't seen this coming, she was SO GOOD a comedian!!1"

#WritersCoffeeClub 9/5 “Do you track your word count? How? Why?”
I use a spreadsheet, because I want to know. It gives me a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.
The spreadsheet has one sheet per year, entries for every day (at least a cell), it has rows for every project and sums for every week, month and year, and yes, there is a master sheet that lists the final word count from every year.

My oldest brother was gay and everyone in the family knew it except me. It wasn't talked about. Back then in early eighties South Africa, gay was very much a criminal offence.
Anyway I was going to high school and I had to pick my optional subject. "Art!" I said excitedly. I had an image of unstructured lessons where you just made stuff and nothing was right or wrong.
I had no idea my dad's gaydar was pinging urgently, so I was floored when he vehemently forbade my choice. "No. You'll do accountancy." His sudden engagement was the most shocking thing - normally he just ignored me.
I did accountancy for two years and defiantly learned nothing. My final mark for the subject was an H (A being good...). I remember thinking proudly that I didn't know marks went that low.
The accountancy teacher caned the children who failed tests. And this went on every single test for two years. I dreaded the lessons, the teacher's explosive rages and the methodical canings, but I also clung on grimly to my refusal to learn my lessons.
Besides, I couldn't learn it. Science, for example, was about solving mysteries and understanding the world, but Accountancy just seemed to be random, elaborate procedures. Accountancy was a world where nothing needed to make sense or have any beauty, you just had to Do It This Way.
But now school was out, and I could take my H home to my father safe forever from the vengeance of the ledger nazi.

Diary of an AuDHD Squirrel. Day 1044 , Sunday 06/09/2026
Well that was an utterly unremarkable day.
The repairs to the leak in the hot water system seem to be holding, which is a relief, I’ll put everything back together tomorrow.
We watched the first ep of ‘Star City’ this evening, if you liked ‘For All Mankind’ then I am sure you will enjoy this offshoot!
Final Thoughts.
I wish I had the motivation to do more, but it seems in frighteningly short supply at the moment.
Meanwhile the world spirals towards chaos & there seems to be little one can do to stop it.
When thugs in black tops & balaclava’s can terrorise Dover with impunity but vicars who peacefully protest against genocide are imprisoned as terrorists the world seems to be a place where little makes sense!Thank you to all those who are helping me on this journey, in a myriad different ways. how Autistic people can save Humanity
because everything must make sense to us, we are a filter for unquestioned, agentic garbage. ("agentic" is Stanley Milgram's term, and everyone on the #Fediverse should be using it; he was hard-core antifascist)
and while there is a lot of obvious value in filtering out garbage (beyond thanklessly) the compounding sociocultural impact of those who internalize that things must make sense is the ultimate humanity-saving feat.

A client came to me about her teenage daughter. The mother said the girl had always been able to handle things, and they “just weren’t handleable anymore. Not the sound of people chewing. Not the neighbor’s lawnmower. Most foods were suddenly off limits because she couldn’t stand the texture.”
Nothing changed in the environment. What changed is that the filter between stimulus and overwhelm was gone. 1/3

[P] Enjoy every day, okay? Just have fun. Don't be irresponsible with resources as that'll just speed things up, but certainly do relax and take it easy. Don't work too hard or plan long term. Don't bother having kids. I'm telling you, as a mind able to grasp this, that there is no future. These are the last good days we have, so don'tnswuander them. Do what you enjoy. The end is scheduled sooner than expected, faster than expected.

[P] Lots of huves of buzzy-buzzy bee-simians getting all riled up, smashing windows, screaming, and flailing. It's what hiverarchians always do in response to a threat. They'll riot as it all comes down around them, each day resulting in more and more violence because hiverarchians are nothing if not astoundingly vacuous, shallow, and hormonal. So, yes, lots of rioting! All that rioting as it all collapses. It's going to be terrible.

[P] If the AMOC goes? You're looking at a chain reaction with loads of other currents across that wholly interconnected system. And when THEY fail, the oceanic ecosystem begins to fail. And if THAT fails, then a huge ext8nction event is assured. Including humans, yes, because hiverarchian drones have grown too stolid in their fetishes for tribe and hierarchy to be ANY kind of adaptable anymore. They'll riot, of course. They always riot.

[P] Oh good. The AMOC collapse is going to be as catastrophic as I feared. I read an article by a geoup of scholars that setup a timeline and... it's exactly what I expected. I'd ask "Why can't I be wrong more??" but I know what's to blame. I'm introspective and I think about chain reactions a lot. The earth is an organism like your body is, gaia hypothesis et al, and nithing—I stress, nothing—happens in isolation. It's an interconnected system.

Ahead of this visit, I was talking to a coworker and accidentally unloaded about my parents, and she said “Well, they did one thing right, because you’re nothing like that.”
Which is true, but I don’t think they should get the credit. I think the imprinting just didn’t take, because I am #ActuallyAutistic and my brain is different.

Autistic burnout is different from regular burnout. Regular burnout, like work burnout or caregiver burnout, is a volume problem. Too much on your plate, for too long. And the fix follows logically from the cause: take things off your plate, rest, ease back in. That’s good advice. It works.

Saturday started a bit late at 07:30.
Breakfast & chores as usual then started to chase the last main bounty in Starfield.
Relaxing afternoon & then a fried chicken takeaway while watching the new Apple TV ‘Mayday’.

Not a bad day today although I wish I had had the energy to actually do more!
