  8. Weird experience: I got to the Line G stop at the Salesforce Center just as the FS bus departed in front of us. Then, just after getting off the Line G bus on Solano, I cross the street and that same Line FS bus (not in service at that point) stops to let me cross.

  9. @dev Agree. My #VTA + #BART + #ACTransit route used to be $8.55 on my #clippercard , now it's $3.70. Not sure how this math / finance works out.

I did read that the current discount is up for review in approx 18-24 months.

  12. It was one of those crappy Mondays where, on my #commute to the office in the time shifted morning dark, on 3 bus lines (2 #vta , 1 #actransit ) and a train, 2 of the three bus runs were cancelled.

Tried to make the most of it with inbox purging and extended reading/podcasts. Got to the office over an hour late.

#amorfati : yes, trying so hard. 😀 It wasn't raining.

  18. My long time friend, Chris Peeples, AC Transit director passed away in his sleep overnight.

I have known him about 35 years, before he was on the board, when he was on the staff of Oakland council member Mary Moore.

I met him through non-political friends. He was UC Santa Cruz college friends of some friends of mine. Those friends forwarded the news of his passing to me. And somehow kept in contact with Chris over the decades, discovering many other friends who had known him.

    I'll miss him.

  19. Today, I picked up my pensioner pass from #ACTransit. One of the benefits of retirement from AC Transit is free bus rides.

To get there, I caught the day’s last #actransit Line 800 to transfer to BART. It was the last AC Transit trip I’ll ever have to pay for (at least for myself). It was on one of the last Van Hool buses still in operation, one of the 60-foot articulated models.

I rode BART to downtown Oakland where the AC Transit office is. I picked up my pass. I also picked up a youth Clipper card for my daughter, who just became old enough to have to pay for transit.
