🎸 MUSICIANS: Do you believe voting in the midterms is crucial for fighting the injustice system & lawmakers who want to strip us of our rights? We’re working w @voffund.bsky.social to activate people through music to stand up & be counted by voting in the primaries & in the elections this November.

#NeilYoung Trashes Amazon, Gives His Complete Musical Catalog to #Greenland for Free

“Amazon is owned by #JeffBezos, a billionaire backer of the president,” Young writes to fans. “My music will never be available on Amazon, as long as it is owned by Bezos”

By Andy Greene, January 26, 2026

“Young’s complete catalog and a vast archive of live concerts, studio outtakes, and concert films is available on the Neil Young Archives in super high definition sound. Prices range from $24.99 to $99.99 a year, but he’s just gifted all of it to the people of Greenland in response to President Donald Trump’s threats against the nation.

" 'I hope my music and music films will ease some of the unwarranted stress and threats you are experiencing from our unpopular and hopefully temporary government,' he wrote. 'It is my sincere wish for you to be able to enjoy all of my music in your beautiful Greenland home, in its highest quality. This is an offer of peace and love. All the music I made during the last 62 years is yours to hear. You can renew for free was long as you’re in Greenland. We do hope other organizations will follow in the spirit of our example.' "

Get Up Stand Up

"Get up, stand up
Stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight
Get up, stand up
Stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight

You, preacher man don't tell me
Heaven is under the earth
You a duppy and you don't know
What life is really worth
It's not all that glitter is gold
And half the story has never been told
So now we see the light
We gonna stand up for your rights
Come on

Get up, stand up, brother
Stand up for your rights, come on
Get up, stand up, sisters
Don't give up the fight, I'm beggin' you to
Get up, stand up
Stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up
I say don't give up the fight

'Cause you know most people think
A great God will come from the skies
Take away every little thing
And left everybody dry
But if you know what life is worth
You would look for yours right here on earth
And now we see the light
We gonna stand up for our rights
Come on

Get up, stand up
Don't make them push you 'round
Stand up for your rights, come on brothers
Get up, stand up, be brave, now
Don't give up the fight, I say
Get up, stand up
Stand up for your rights
Don't let them hold you down
Get up, stand up
I say don't give up the fight

We're sick and tired of this game of technology
Humbly asking Jesus for His mercy
We know and we know and understand
Almighty Jah is a living man
You fool some people sometimes
But you can't fool all the people all the time
And now we see the light
We gonna stand up for our rights
Come on

Get up, stand up
Stand up for your rights, come on brothers
Get up, stand up
I say don't give up the fight
Don't let them push you 'round
I say, get up, stand up
Stand up for your rights
Come on sisters
Get up, stand up
I say don't give up the fight"

Strength

"Give me love
Give me hope
Give me strength
Give me someone to live for

Who will light the fire that I need to survive
Who will be the life blood coursing through my veins
Like a river flowing that will never change
I need someone I can depend on

I’m a man of emotion who can’t hide the tears
I’m a man of feeling who can’t hide the pain
I’m alone on the outskirts of town where no one knows my name
I’m at the point in my life where I need affection

Give me love
Give me hope
Give me STRENGTH
Give me someone to live for

Someone write me a letter, I need to know that I’m still alive
Someone give me a telephone call, I need to hear a human sound
Someone open up a door and let me out of this place
I’ve been caged up for oh so long, I don’t know if I’m living or dying

Give me love
Give me hope
Give me STRENGTH
Give me someone to live for

I walk alone, across the outskirts of town
I can’t control what I’m going through now
Will you light the fire that I need to survive
Will you donate the life blood coursing through my veins
Will you open up the door and let me out of this place
I’ve been caged up for oh so long, I don’t know if I’m living or dying

Give me love
Give me hope
Give me STRENGTH
Give me someone to live for"

When The Generals Talk

"Up there, up there, up there on the platform
He is speaking to the people
The people are responding
With clapping and a cheering
But the meaning of the message
Not revealed to those assembled
They're taken for a ride
Taken in his stride

"When the Generals talk
You better listen to him
When the Generals talk
You better do what he say
When the Generals talk
You better listen to him
When the Generals talk
You better do what he say"

So, I'm like a Boomer/GenX borderline baby. It just blows my friggin' mind that we're still having to fight the battles that started many years ago. Why don't we realize that we ALL live on #MotherEarth, and we're all dependent on Mother Earth! And if we hurt Her, we hurt ourselves. What is so difficult in understanding this?!! Seems like a no brainer to me... But then again, we're sailing on a #ShipOfFools!

Heads We're Dancing

"You talked me into the game of chance
It was 39 before the music started
When you walked up to me and you said
'Hey, heads, we dance'
Well, I didn't know who you were
Until I saw the morning paper

There was a picture of you
A picture of you 'cross the front page
It looked just like you, just like you in every way
But it couldn't be true, it couldn't be true
You stepped out of a stranger

They say that the devil is a charming man
And just like you, I bet he can dance
And he's coming up behind in his long tailed black coat dance
All tails in the air
But the penny landed with its head dancing

A picture of you, a picture of you in uniform
Standing with your head held high
Hot down to the floor but it couldn't be you
It couldn't be you, it's a picture of Hitler

He go do-do-do-do-do
He go do-do-do-do-do
He go do-do-do-do-do
Do you want to dance?

Well, I couldn't see what was to be
So I just stood there laughing

A picture of you, a picture of you in uniform
Standing with your head held high
Hot down to the floor but it couldn't be you
It couldn't be you, it's a picture of Hitler

He go mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh
He go mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh
He go mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh
Heads we're dancing

Do you wanna dance?

Mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh
Mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh
Mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh-mmh

Heads we're dancing

Do you wanna dance?"

I heard this gem on #WMPG today. A new-to-me band, #MoonWalker. Wow!

The Price Of Life Itself (2022)

[Verse 1]
We're raiding drug stores to finally cure the disease
Peel back the skin and see the real thing
Go follow the money, tell me where it leads you
Do you think you’re not part of the same machine?
We're bugging phone lines, and tapping into your dreams
Did you think freedom would be free?
We can't provide security ’cause the price tag would be too steep
And who'd finance the enemy?

[Chorus]
Treat our militia like trigger-happy machines
Fеwer lives saved than casualtiеs
We all poison the water, and drink it up because it tastes so sweet
For some, not all
We still believe in angels, and leaving everyone blind
Sentencer says "eye for an eye"
But he still talks to the money
Taking bail and bribe security
The price of life itself

[Verse 2]
You love to talk but you're finished making sense
Ah, ah, ah, ah
Little man with a big mouth
Train him, give him a big gun
Dosed up to do some power tripping
There ain't no justice, white judge addresses all white jury
Hear no perspective that don't come from white congregations
White legislation proposed by white administrations
Enforced by other-fearing victims of white isolation

[Chorus]
Believe no pictures
We live by prophecies (Ignored by white abominations)
Affirm convictions while we sleep
We walk lambs to the slaughter
To give our sons and daughters what they need
For mine, not yours
We still don't hear no answers
That challenge what we think (Oh, yeah)
Don't need no harsh reality
We can stay above the water
While still lending a hand to those who sink (No way!)
The price of life itself (Not me)

[Interlude]
When I was younger
My momma told me
In this world there are sheep and there are wolves
And you can be whichever one you want to be
'Cause when you look like you there’s a choice
And I chose, woo

[Outro]
But momma didn’t raise no wolf
And I was never really one to fight
You know I never had no friends
But that's life
I thought it always looked like fun
When they gun ’em down on the TV
In the cops I saw a hero
'Cause you know they all looked just like me
Just like me
How's that?
Try white, rich, Christian and unstable
And they ain't gotta take no accountability
They just say that they were scared and under pressure
As if that’s not the only special skill set needed to do their job

The Powerful Messages That #WoodyGuthrie & #PeteSeeger Inscribed on Their Guitar & Banjo: “This Machine Kills #Fascists” and “This Machine Surrounds Hate and Forces it to Surrender”

#ACAB Round Dance by #KleeBenally

"Police violence is systemically rooted in #WhiteSupremacy, #heteropatriarchy, #capitalism, and #colonialism.

"According to Eastern Kentucky University professor Victor E. Kappeler, 'New England settlers appointed Indian Constables to police Native Americans (National Constable Association, 1995), the St. Louis police were founded to protect residents from Native Americans in that frontier city, and many southern police departments began as slave patrols. In 1704, the colony of Carolina developed the nation’s first slave patrol. Slave patrols helped to maintain the economic order and to assist the wealthy landowners in recovering and punishing slaves who essentially were considered property.'

"According to the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice 'The racial group most likely to be killed by law enforcement is Native Americans, followed by African Americans, Latinos, Whites, and Asian Americans.' This is not to argue Indigenous folks’ oppression is more severe, but to recognize our shared struggles to ensure there is not one more Sarah Lee Circle Bear‬, Corey Kanosh‬, Paul Castaway‬, Allen Locke‬, Mahivist Goodblanket‬, John Williams‬, or Loreal Tsingine (and so many more...) and to situate the ongoing police terrorism all our communities face as originating from the same systems of oppression.
Beyond pleas for a system rooted in genocide and slavery to recognize that our lives matter, our communities and movements can learn from each others’ struggles and build together towards lasting solutions to defend ourselves, neighbors, lands, and to resolve issues we face in more just and healthy ways. #Unsustainable by #KleeBenally

"All my rage bleeds out my throat
into rivers that used to flow
into canyons painting these deserts
so that they will grow. (once again)

is it too late
to rethink this?
on the eve of another apocalypse…
how far are will willing to go
to resist?
how far are will willing to go?

we can’t sustain, we can’t sustain
the unsustainable

are you still waiting and hoping this will all go away?
or for a better cage or more comfortable chains?
while these roots wither and they decay
well, its not broken, it’s made this way…
we can’t sustain, we can’t sustain
the unsustainable

and if the structures don’t change?
and the control remains the same?
they bring terror but they have names
so fuck your votes, your politicians, and reforms
we can’t sustain, we can’t sustain
the unsustainable

end this cycle
destroy what destroys us

we can’t sustain."

#Blackfire - #Resist (with #KleeBenally)

"Walk upon the screaming grounds, each step takes us on a different past
We try to carry on, but you hold us back
We get used to the pain, 'cause we feel it every day
We get used to the lies, 'cause the truths so far away
Walk upon the screaming grounds, no respect for the dead
You see what you want to see, is nothing sacred?

"The past is just an echo we hear in the pages of books
But how can we let go of something we could never touch
Were given the freedom of speech but you change our words
You turn to help the environment but you can't respect the earth

"Walk upon the screaming grounds, no respect for the dead
You see what you want to see, is nothing sacred?

"You sold your life for another life
You sold your future thought you could survive
You sold your soul for an education
What you got was forced relocation

Walk upon the screaming grounds, no respect for the dead
You see what you want to see, is nothing sacred?

"Decide now which side of the fence you want to be on
Which way do you want to live?
How can we choose one or the other
We must resist
We will build the bridges
We will tear down the fences
We will resist, We will resist!

"Walk upon the screaming grounds, no respect for the dead
You see what you want to see, is nothing sacred?
Is nothing sacred?"

#SineadOConnor (#ShuhadaSadaqat) told #Israel’s Itamar Ben Gvir his 'soul had failed' after death threat

Irish singer, who converted to Islam, wrote to current Israeli national security minister after a group he led threatened to kill her

By Daniel Hilton
Published date: 27 July 2023

'Nobody with any sanity, including myself, would have anything but sympathy for the #Palestinian plight'

- Sinead O'Connor

"Irish singer Sinead O’Connor, who died on Wednesday aged 56, wrote a letter to Itamar Ben Gvir, now Israel’s far-right national security minister, condemning him and his group for threatening to kill her.

"The incident happened weeks after O’Connor cancelled a planned concert in #Jerusalem in June 1997, organised by #Palestinian and #Israeli women to promote the idea of the city as a shared capital. The death threats were claimed by #JewishSupremacist group the #IdeologicalFront.

"The Irish singer was one of the most famous names in music after her cover of Prince's Nothing Compares 2 U topped the charts worldwide in 1990. She became a Muslim in 2018 and changed her name to Shuhada Sadaqat.

"#BenGvir, who was then a leading member of the Ideological Front, had appeared on Israeli radio after the cancellation. O’Connor said in an open letter that he 'gloated' about his 'success' in preventing my appearance'.

"She added: 'I have some things to say in response to your organisation's recent threat upon my life..."
