Noch ein letzter Test, dann geht es wieder in den Normalbetrieb.

Ich möchte lediglich noch einmal die ActivityPub-Einstellungen überprüfen. Optisch und inhaltlich ändert sich an der Website nichts.

Also, fast nichts: Bei der ganzen Testerei ist ganz nebenbei ein neues Logo entstanden. Das war eigentlich gar nicht geplant.

Thanks for your previous support, however I feel like I have yet an important question.

After shutting down the #misskey on matrix.rocks, I have been running a web setup replaying http code 410 to everything related to misskey, I ley it run for several day, until there was more or less zero activity so trace in the log files. Then replaced the nginx config for match the new #sharkey install on same domain. setting it up etc. and almost everything seems fine.. right until the point I tries to cross follow accounts between freyjas.org and matrix.rocks, OK, I do know #ActivePub can be challenging so starts investigating.. and surely userID are not updated from matrix to Freyja's, it is still using the old ID; thinking should not be that difficult. delete the old ID (user accounts from /admin/users) and then rerun some follow request... but, still or should I think once again it is using and old ID.

Any suggestions to how I can clean freyjas.org for the old ID's and get activepub up and running?

It seems like due to some peculiarities of #PeerTube implementation of #ActivePub following channels doesn’t seem to work - e.g. when I follow @ua_war_videos it looks like I merely started “follow request”, even though on PeerTube side I see new user follow and no “follow request” which I could approve 🤔

When I however follow the channel owner @kravietz - it works as expected 🤔

So to follow the @wartranslated18 you need to really follow the automated account that uploads the channel videos - @tg2p

First of all, wellcome 😀

I switch close to a year ago. At the beginning I missed people I followed
(https://fedifinder.glitch.me/ helps you to find others who moved). Through the distributed nature it's harder to find people by name or handle.

I used bird.makeup for some of them
(@[email protected] creates a virtual #mastodon account which mirrors their tweets).

I struggled with the search, as you couldn't search the content of posts.
But while the bird search got worse (I went back a few times to find out stuff, unsuccessfully) the search here improved.
There now is a full text search (every account can configure if they like to be searchable or not (and the instance needs to support it)).
Through the distributed nature you will not search all of the #fediverse (not sure if you stumbled upon this name before. If not I'll add an explanation 😀).

I have more meaningful and "successful" interaction (e.g. found a kids book I read 40 years ago by a very vague description 😅)

Summing it up, I feel at home here 😄

P.s.: #Maston is not all of the #fedivers and after some time I tried out @bookwyrm which is an #ActivePub server with the focus on books and tracking reading. While it's not a mastodon instance you can still follow and interact with people there (e.g @[email protected] )
Translated to commercial social networks it would be like you could follow and respond to people on Instagram or Facebook from within the birdside.

We need Self-Sovereign Social Network Protocols that set ground rules for self-organized and self-moderated communities. I want to take my social graph and audience with me and do something useful for this relationship. I want to unlock this relationship.

@selfawarepatterns @ben_crowell_fullerton I checked the code, and I don't think it's possible with #Mastodon even though API. But it seems to be possible via #ActivePub. And libranet seems to be a separate implementation, not directly related to mastodon: https://github.com/friendica/friendica

I'm trying to use #Pixelfed for a few weeks and I wonder why people use Instagram. It's so much nicer and practical to have the possibility to share your photos cross platform!

And people using other platforms can still interact with you without needing to register or login on a new website.

Here in Germany there are more concerns about #privacy, so it seems to have more people using Pixelfed instead of #facebook stuff.

The interactions between #BookWyrm and #Mastodon remain misteriouse to me (or is this an #ActivePub or an instance issue)

Looking at my BookWyrm account @[email protected] from Mastodon I see that there are 3 posts but I don't see the post. There should be more than 3 posts and there should be newer ones as well.

On Tusky my follow request ist pending.
In the web ui I'm following (i stay directed at least in the mobile ui it's also in the requested state)
On the @bookwyrm instance I don't have followers and also no follow requests.

This could also be an synchronisation/temporal issue but it's already ~10 hours in this state

I tried to add two profiles on platforms using software different than #Mastodon, #Pleroma, and #Pixelfeld (@Enfors and @andre, respectively), but also #ActivePub, and it worked quite well! Nice! 🙂

As someone who uses Tumblr as a blog, I love that they're going to implement #activepub. It means I can continue to use Tumblr for longer posts and Mastodon for short posts and following can happen cross platform.
