    The unsung hero of the Swedish mobile giant and the spiritual savior of the famous "T-series" design language. While the ultra-slim Ericsson T28 captured the world's imagination in 1999, it was plagued by fatal hardware flaws, particularly the notorious "no transmitter" power management issue and a fragile flip latch. Released in 2001, the T29 was engineered specifically to address these structural vulnerabilities, offering a beefier, incredibly rugged, and highly reliable chassis that became a favorite among business professionals.

It was also one of the first mainstream devices to heavily push EMS messaging, bridging the gap between basic SMS and modern MMS. It stands as the final, refined monument of independent Ericsson engineering before the landmark joint venture with Sony in late 2001.
