«Actívate» rechaza fallo de la SCJN sobre objeción de conciencia en Morelos

A pesar de la entrega de argumentos técnicos y ciudadanos, la Corte ignora el sentir de la sociedad civil y prioriza una agenda ideológica que vulnera los derechos del personal médico

Luego de la resolución de la Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación (SCJN) sobre la acción de inconstitucionalidad relacionada con el artículo 12 Bis de la Ley de Salud del Estado de Morelos, desde la plataforma ciudadana ACTÍVATE manifestamos nuestro firme rechazo a esta decisión, al considerar que vulnera gravemente el derecho del personal sanitario a ejercer su libertad de conciencia.

La determinación de la Corte obliga al Congreso de Morelos a modificar la legislación estatal en un plazo de 90 días, lo que pone en riesgo la facultad de los profesionales de la salud para abstenerse de participar en procedimientos contrarios a sus principios éticos, profesionales o religiosos. La objeción de conciencia no es un privilegio, sino un derecho vinculado a la libertad de pensamiento reconocido en instrumentos internacionales de derechos humanos.

Al respecto, Pablo Cordero, integrante de ACTÍVATE, señaló: “La Corte debería velar por que los médicos no sean obligados a actuar en contra de sus convicciones. Invalidar este artículo es ignorar que la objeción de conciencia es un pilar de las sociedades plurales y debe ser protegido sin cortapisas”. –sn–
