It took me a long time to learn that striving to please others does not bring #happiness. It brought a #quantity of #acquaintances but no #quality #relationships. Being myself brought me a few quality relationships and that is all I need.

Today is my #birthday!

One of the things I miss the most from #facebook (even after I joined #mastodon) is reading all the birthday #posts to my #wall (#feed).

Both brief generic "Best wishes!" and long personal #blessings, from both close #friends and distant #acquaintances alike.

So wish me a happy birthday (if you wish) and excuse me for popping onto Facebook. (:
