Got another spam from another Aussie retailer, this time from Frank Green, who I’ve purchased from before but deliberately opted out of their offers. Yet, here I am, getting spam from them.
Reported to ACMA.
In the past year it’s as though Australian retailers collectively decided that they’re just going to add all of their customers to their promo lists, even if they’d already opted out.

In April 2025, we consulted on our proposal to remake the Radiocommunications Licence Conditions (Amateur Licence) Determination 2015.
We have now made the Radiocommunications Licence Conditions (Amateur Licence) Determination 2025, which will commence on 30 September 2025.

Check the new ACMA Assist portal to see if your *CLASS* License is linked to your account. Contact [email protected] if it is not.
I created an ACMA Assist Account using MyGovID (which has a different email address to my ACMA contact details), and while I was able to link my apparatus license to my account and update my contact details on that, it appears the class license is still not linked to my account.

Well let’s see how this goes. Have just filed a spam complaint with the AU Communications Authority against a well known Australian outdoor living company.
They decided that because I have ordered a product in-store and provided an email address for receipt and shipping contact to also add me to their marketing.
At no point during the transaction was I advised that my email address would be used for marketing nor would I have consented to opting in. I believe under these circumstances there is a case to answer.
At the least I will be unsubscribed, but I am hoping for a more thorough investigation and some regulatory action for this sort of behaviour.
