Heyyy everyone #academicmastadon #academia

I think #biorxiv is sending out a survey link, might be relevant. The survey has issues pertinent to their social media presence (Mastodon, Bluesky, ...).

If you are a publishing scientist I think this might be a good thing to keep an eye out for

I feel like I've been here before....

Now, I'm headed to LA for #WE23. Excited to see all my #SWEple.

I'll be on a panel with Stephanie Gillespie, Yanfen Li, and Nicole Jackson. We will be talking about navigating early career changes to the traditional academic career path on Friday.

@academicchatter

I had a great time meeting new people, catching up with friends, and learning new things at #BMES2023 this week.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by my poster this morning and engaged in excellent conversations about inclusive laboratory courses.

I'll share more details about the poster when I get home.

What is the climate in academic journals regarding publishing research related to #Twitter like lately?

Why aren’t we talking about this more?

@roopikarisam This is fantastic news! Huge congratulations. Investing in sustainability, support for reviewers, translation, expanding areas of coverage -- the stuff dreams are made of. 🎉

Throughout the build and after its launch, Julee Raiskin and I talked a lot about the evolving landscape of digital scholarship and what "counts," and I pointed to #ReviewsInDH as a shining example of a community that brings these inter- and intra-disciplinary works into conversation with each other and beyond -- and a model she might consider for peer review of her labor of love. I'm over the moon to see "Outliers and Outlaws" in this month's issue and my heart is so full to see the good work of #ReviewsInDH supported with this grant from Mellon.

Three cheers from this corner of the #DigitalHumanities and #AcademicMastadon community! 💜

because accessing academic papers is like -- balance your body on the big toe of your right foot, holding your nose with your left thumb and forefinger ... now type in the password while sneezing thrice.
so, even if the institution has access it might be easier to go to sci-hub (not that i do) :D

I want to spend some time talking explicitly about academic and business writing in my spring semester courses.
