I finished #SwordOfTheSea last night.

Nice little 'one of those' type games that fits in well alongside the studios other works in #ABZU and #ThePathless.

It's a beautiful game to look at for sure, and the soundtrack is really something.

At the same time, I found the comparisons to #Journey to be a little skin-deep.

Yes it's got a desert. Yes it's got a little person that floats around said desert and yes, it's got a super chill vibe with beautiful scenery and a nice soundtrack....

But it didn't land with nearly as much weight.

That's not to say it's bad. It isn't. It's just lacking that social aspect that made Journey such a revelation a decade or so ago (fuck me, time eh?)

Just wrapped up "Jumping for Joy" by Chris Scullion, and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Was a blast to relive some of my favourite platformers through the pages, and a firm reminder of all the amazing ones that are still sitting in my backlog.
