@deadDuck For the record, Elections Calgary have now replied today and say there will be no electronic vote-counting: "As per the Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA), ballots will be hand counted by election workers after voting stations close on Election Day."
So, I guess _some_ good news out of a not-great Act.

Kinda amazing how many consequential outcomes in Alberta politics over the past year have been decided by votes of just over 50%
May 2022: Jason Kenney gets 51.4% support in leadership review. He resigns.
October 2022: Danielle Smith wins UCP leadership on sixth round of voting with 53.8% of the ballots.
May 2023: UCP wins election with 52.6% of the popular vote.

CW: Alberta election, moving
The #ABVotes result mean i have no hope left for this province and i'm going to start planning to move in earnest. Targeting moving in 2024-2025. Anyone else planning to move? Where to? I'd like to go where we know people, so i will seriously consider moving to a place if a friend says that's where they are going. Halifax and Victoria are near the top of my list.

Today, 62% of registered Alberta voters voted.
Over half of them gave Danielle DeSantis here a #ucp majority gov.Jennifer "LGBTQ2IA+ children are pieces of shit" Johnson got 67% of the votes cast in her riding.

If there’s one potential upside to this delay in counting advance polls: if the trend from the US holds steady, left-leaning voters participate in early voting initiatives more than do right-leaning voters.
