Abu Obeida Praises Hezbollah after Failed Zionist Advance in South Lebanon

Abu Obeida, the military spokesman of Hamas’ Qassam Brigades, praised Hezbollah’s military operations in Lebanon and said Resistance fighters continue to inflict significant losses on zionist occupation forces.

He said Hezbollah’s actions come within the framework of “heroic resistance to the aggression against Lebanon, its people and its sovereignty,” describing resistance to occupation as “a right and a duty guaranteed by all laws.”

Abu Obeida argued that the zionist regime’s continued military operations are an attempt to compensate for failures across multiple fronts.

“The enemy is trying, through continuing its crimes and occupation, to compensate for its failure in various arenas,” he said.

He added that zionist efforts to separate the various Resistance fronts have not succeeded.

“The occupation is striving to separate the resistance fronts, but all its attempts are futile, as it has reaped nothing but disappointment and defeat for more than two and a half years,” Abu Obeida stated.

Remarks Come amid Ali al-Taher Battles

Abu Obeida’s comments came as fighting intensified in southern Lebanon, particularly along the Kfar Tebnit–Ali al-Taher axis.

Hezbollah has repeatedly stated that the area is “immune to enemy infiltration” and vowed to prevent Israeli forces from establishing positions on the strategic heights overlooking Nabatieh.

The Resistance recently announced that its fighters confronted zionist forces attempting to advance toward Ali al-Taher, luring troops into prepared ambushes and targeting armored vehicles and troop concentrations.

Zionist Media Acknowledge Setbacks

Zionist media acknowledged that occupation forces failed to seize the Ali al-Taher heights despite intensive military operations in the area.

Reports cited by Al Mayadeen indicated that anti-tank missiles and drone strikes targeted occupation armor and troop movements, forcing evacuations of casualties from the battlefield.

Zionist outlets also described the confrontations as among the most difficult faced by occupation forces in southern Lebanon in recent months.

The latest clashes occurred despite ongoing ceasefire arrangements linked to the Iran-US memorandum of understanding, under which Tehran has repeatedly insisted that any end to regional hostilities must include Lebanon.

Abu Obeida: Settling Accounts With Zionist Regime Ongoing

The “settling of accounts” with “Israel” will remain open until a full and heavy price is paid, the spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, stated on Tuesday, stressing that the “cowardly enemy” is deluded if it believes that it can weaken the Resistance through the assassination of its leaders.

In a statement, Abu Obeida said that “to anyone with insight and sound judgment, it has become clear that we are facing a vile enemy that possesses no morality except its opposite, does not abide by agreements, and has fundamentally misread the situation,” noting that the spilled Palestinian blood has continued unabated despite existing agreements.

He added that the blood of the martyred leaders is “the fuel that drives our ship to overcome hardships,” affirming that “there remain leaders among us who were forged in the fields of steadfastness and preparation, refined by experience and hardened by wars.”

Abu Obeida to the people of Gaza: It is forbidden for us to betray this blood

In a message directed to the people of the Gaza Strip, Abu Obeida said, “Our people in Gaza, we have heard your words, listened to your chants, and witnessed your majestic marches in farewell to the martyred leaders, and it is forbidden for us to betray this blood.”

He continued, “We will remain faithful to you and to embracing your freedom-fighting sons, and these sacrifices, great and immense as they are, will, God willing, yield a clear and decisive victory.”

Abu Obeida also recalled the martyred commander Izz al-Din al-Haddad (Abu Suhaib), head of the General Staff of the al-Qassam Brigades, noting that he played a central role in planning, preparing, and directly overseeing the October 7 operation.

He also highlighted the role of the martyred senior commander Mohammed Odeh, explaining that he left his mark on every field, as he was among the founding core of the brigades’ military manufacturing, before moving on to lead the military intelligence apparatus, where he played a key role in planning the October 7 operation.

Call to mediators and the Arab, Islamic nations to restrain the occupation

On the political and international level, Abu Obeida stressed that the ongoing Israeli crimes place mediators and guarantors of agreements before a moment of truth, considering that “remaining silent or neutral is no longer acceptable.”

He called for unifying and intensifying all efforts to restrain the occupation and compel it to fulfill its commitments, praising Resistance factions that have inflicted losses on the enemy, pointing out the fighters of Lebanon who, he said, have “written epic acts of heroism in confronting Zionist arrogance.”

In conclusion, Abu Obeida renewed his call to the Arab and Islamic nations, urging them to set aside differences and redirect focus toward “the sole enemy of the Ummah.”

Despite ongoing ceasefire arrangements, the occupation continues to carry out assassinations, which Palestinian factions and Resistance movements across the region have consistently condemned as war crimes and violations of international law.

Al-Haddad’s role in rebuilding and leading Al-Qassam Brigades

Al-Haddad, born in Gaza City in 1970, joined Hamas shortly after its establishment in 1987 before emerging as one of the most prominent military leaders within the al-Qassam Brigades. He began his armed activity among the movement’s earliest armed formations and steadily rose through the ranks, serving as a field commander, battalion commander, and later commander of the Gaza Brigade following the assassination of commander Bassem Issa by “Israel” in 2021.

Over recent years, al-Haddad became one of the leading members of the Brigades’ general military council and was tasked with overseeing northern Gaza and rebuilding military capabilities following successive Israeli wars on the Strip. “Israel” accused him of participating in the planning of the October 7 operation and considered him among the key military figures directing combat operations throughout the ongoing war.

Following the assassinations of Mohammad Deif, Marwan Issa, and Mohammad Sinwar, al-Haddad emerged as the most senior military commander within the al-Qassam Brigades, assuming leadership of the Brigades’ General Staff. He became the fifth Chief of Staff in the movement’s history after Salah Shehadeh, Ahmad al-Jaabari, Mohammad Deif, and Mohammad Sinwar.

For years, al-Haddad remained among “Israel’s” most wanted Resistance leaders, surviving several assassination attempts while living between tunnels and secret locations away from public view. With his assassination, the al-Qassam Brigades bid farewell to another commander in its history of resistance and liberation, one regarded as among the movement’s most influential military figures who played a central role in building and directing its armed wing over the past decades.

Abu Obeida Praises Hezbollah Operations Against Zionist Forces

The spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, praised the operations carried out by the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon against zionist forces, commending what he described as a determined response to ongoing aggression against Lebanon and the wider region.

In a statement circulated by Hamas-affiliated media outlets, Abu Obeida hailed what he called the “heroic act” of the resistance fighters confronting Israeli forces and carrying out strikes against targets deep inside zionist-occupied territory.

“We commend the heroic act carried out by the fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon in confronting the aggressive Zionist forces and  inflicting heavy losses on them, as well as striking strategic targets deep inside the entity,” Abu Obeida said.

He added that the Lebanese resistance fighters were exercising their legitimate right to defend their land and national sovereignty in the face of continued zionist  aggression.

“We express our support for the resistance fighters as they exercise their right to defend their land and the sovereignty of their country in the face of an aggression that has not ceased for a single moment,” he said.

Honoring Resistance Martyrs

Abu Obeida also expressed condolences for the victims of the war on Lebanon and wished a swift recovery to those wounded.

“We extend our prayers for mercy upon the martyrs of our brotherly Lebanon, wish a speedy recovery to the wounded, and safety to all its people,” he stated.

The spokesperson also paid tribute to the martyred leader of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, describing his decision to support Gaza as a moral and courageous stance taken in defense of the Palestinian people.

“On this occasion, we also remember His Eminence the martyred Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who made a moral and courageous decision to stand alongside Gaza and its people, offering his soul along with many of his brothers on the path to al-Quds,” the statement read.

Unity Call

Abu Obeida also called on the peoples of the Arab and Islamic worlds to unite in confronting zionist plans to expand the war across the region.

“We call on the peoples of our nation to unite and stand as one in confronting the schemes of the Zionist enemy and its premeditated intentions to expand the aggression to reach more Arab and Islamic countries,” he said.

Resistance Front

The remarks come as confrontations continue along the Lebanon-occupied Palestine border, where the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon has carried out operations against zionist military sites and positions.

Clashes resumed earlier this month following the US-zionist assault on Iran on February 28, which triggered a broader regional escalation.

Since then, the Lebanese front has reactivated as part of the wider confrontation, with resistance groups in the region framing their operations as part of a unified effort to confront zionist aggression and support Gaza.

Abu Obeida: Death, Complete Eradication Await Traitors in Gaza

The Zionist enemy’s collaborators in Gaza will face their death and inevitable elimination at the hands of the Palestinian people’s justice, of which the Israeli occupation will not be able to rescue them, warned Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for the al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing.

In a statement released on Monday, Abu Obeida strongly condemned the collaborator’s actions as service to the Zionist enemy and its agendas. “What these infiltrating collaborators are doing to our people and our honorable resistance fighters reflects full alignment with the occupation and direct execution of its schemes. Their role is nothing more than a function of its security apparatus.”

According to Abu Obeida, collaborators act with impunity under Zionist military protection, particularly in areas occupied by its forces.

“These cowards only feign strength under the protection of the Zionist army and its tanks. Their betrayal, targeting civilians and attempting to overpower resistance fighters weakened by siege and starvation, is not valor, but a desperate effort to prove themselves.”

Abu Obeida warned of the inevitable fate awaiting these collaborators, threatening, “A dark fate awaits the traitors, those tracking our heroes and serving as tools of the occupation. Their end is near: death and complete eradication. The enemy will not shield them from the justice of our people, and they will find no grave in our land to accept their filthy remains.”

Salute to heroic Rafah fighters

He concluded with a tribute to the steadfast resistance fighters besieged in Rafah, highlighting their unshakable stance and historic bravery.

“All honor to our heroic fighters trapped and surrounded in the Rafah corridor, those who rejected humiliation and submission, and chose martyrdom over surrender. Their legacy will be taught to generations to come, and their names will be inscribed in the eternal pages of dignity and resistance.”

Hamas previously announced that it had made extensive efforts through various political leaders and mediators, including full engagement with the US administration as one of the guarantors of the agreement, to resolve the issue of the trapped fighters and ensure their safe return home. However, the Zionist regime undermined all these efforts.

It had submitted specific proposals and mechanisms to resolve the fighters’ situation, yet the regime chose the path of violence, killings, and detention, obstructing the mediators’ work aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Resistance’s heroic fighters.

Thereby, Hamas held the occupation fully responsible for the fate of the fighters and called on mediators to take urgent action to pressure the entity to allow their safe return. Hamas’ fighters are a “unique symbol of sacrifice, resilience, heroism, and a representation of the dignity and freedom of the Palestinian people,” the statement concluded.

“Abu Obeida”: Commander of Al-Qassam Media and the Roaring Voice of the Nation

He conveyed the message of the resistance in his red kuffiyeh for many years. He announced the good news of famous operations, promising the prisoners their awaited freedom, a promise fulfilled by the grace of Allah. He also conveyed the developments of the battlefield to the world, exposed the criminality of the enemy’s leaders and soldiers, and established the proof for the Arab and Islamic nation.

He is the great martyr commander Hudhayfa Samir Abdullah Al-Kahlout “Abu Ibrahim,” the spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, known as “Abu Obeida,” the roaring voice of the nation, the man of the word and the stance, and the pulse of Palestine, its Al-Quds, its people, and its resistance fighters. This knight, who was never cut off from his people in the darkest circumstances, addressed them from the heart of the battle, bringing them good news, patience, and consolation. The audience of the enemy often waited for him even before the sons of his own people, to hear from him the decisive speech and the certain news.

A Quranic Upbringing
Our martyr commander was born in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on February 11, 1985, into a conservative and committed Palestinian family whose origins trace back to the village of Na’aliya, whose people were displaced by the zionist enemy during the war of 1948. After returning from Saudi Arabia, his family settled in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

He was known from a young age for his intelligence and quick wit, enabling him to memorize the entire Holy Quran at a tender age. His parents raised him, like his brothers, to love religion and Jihad for the sake of Allah.

Hudhayfa excelled in his early studies, obtaining a grade of distinction in his high school certificate, which qualified him to study in scientific colleges. However, he chose to study Sharia knowledge, enrolling in the Faculty of Sharia at the Islamic University of Gaza, from which he graduated with distinction.

He did not stop at a bachelor’s degree but continued his studies to obtain a master’s degree from the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion at the Islamic University of Gaza. His thesis was titled “The Holy Land between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.” He then applied for a doctoral program at more than one university outside Palestine, but his work circumstances and the siege on Gaza prevented him from pursuing his PhD.

A Unique Personality
Our martyr commander was dutiful to his parents and maintained his kinship ties. He married in 2005 and formed a committed, believing family. He loved his wife and children, cared for them, and was keen on raising them well, until most of them memorized the Book of Allah. His personality was characterized by unique qualities; he was known as a divine, Quranic man, a person of religion and morals. Allah granted him wisdom and insight, so it was as if he saw with the light of Allah.

Everyone who dealt with him and knew him closely testified that he was humble, tactful, shy, and possessed of great politeness and high morals. He was also forgiving, loyal, and affectionate towards his brothers, sincere in his feelings, and carried the concerns of others, including his neighbors, loved ones, and friends. He was also known for his cheerful face and light-heartedness despite his high seriousness and great burdens, all in addition to the beauty of his appearance and the splendor of his presence.

He was a sheikh, a preacher, and an educator, and at the same time a fighter in the field among his brothers, keen to be in the front lines of Jihad and not to miss nights of Ribat (guard duty) on the frontiers. He was proud of his Islamic and Palestinian identity, considering the issue of Al-Aqsa and the Night Journey (Isra’) as a matter of doctrine. He was also an educated reader in various fields, including the experiences of peoples and nations, their revolutions against injustice, and their march toward liberation from occupation.

In the Ranks of Hamas and Al-Qassam
Our martyr commander joined the ranks of the Hamas movement in his early youth, coinciding with the outbreak of the Al-Aqsa Intifada. He grew up in the mosque and then raised dozens of young men at his hands, instilling in them solid doctrine, understanding, awareness, and love for religion, the homeland, and Jihad for the sake of Allah. His qualities qualified him to hold many jihadist, organizational, security, and preaching positions within the Hamas movement, rising through its ranks, which brought him close to the first tier within the movement and the Al-Qassam Brigades.

He soon joined the ranks of Al-Qassam and proved his merit, rising through many jihadist positions to become a field commander. He participated in many field activities and combat specializations and was involved in confronting zionist incursions into the northern Gaza Strip. He was also an active Mujahid in the artillery corps of the Northern Brigade and participated in shelling occupation sites, in addition to accompanying a number of martyrdom-seekers in their final moments.

Abu Obeida
In 2004, Abu Ibrahim joined the Military Media apparatus, which was then in its beginnings, and became a spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades. His first appearance was in Jabalia camp during the “Days of Wrath” battle in October 2004.

Over the course of 20 years, until the moments of his martyrdom, “Abu Ibrahim” remained a spokesman for Al-Qassam. During this journey, he was in direct contact with many founding leaders, foremost among them the martyr leaders Abu Muhammad al-Jaabari, Marwan Issa, and others. He was also close to and favored by the great martyr of the nation, Mohammed Deif “Abu Khaled.” He worked with hundreds of fighters, leaders, and martyrs who accompanied him on the path of jihad and resistance. For two decades, with his strong presence and truthful words, he formed an icon for free people and a nightmare for the occupation.

The commander rose in media work, initially specializing in drafting military statements, statistics of martyrs, and military operations. He led psychological operations directed at both friend and foe, later assuming the position of Deputy Commander of Military Media.

In 2017, he assumed command of the Military Media Department until the day of his martyrdom. He had clear fingerprints in advancing the Al-Qassam media system, leading the Military Media Department with his brothers with merit and competence. They worked to instill awareness, faith, belonging, and conviction in the role and importance of media within the corridors, components, and levels of the military apparatus. This was reflected in the performance of Al-Qassam’s media, as they translated this practically and on the ground in all battles with the occupation—the latest chapter of which was the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood and the distinguished performance of the military media components within it. Our martyr commander was at the forefront as a soldier, a commander, and a spokesman.

The Discourse of Revolution and the Word of Resistance
Through the persona of the masked man in the red keffiyeh, our martyr commander established an authentic symbolism for the state of resistance and the Palestinian revolution and its sacred right to defend its people and land. His appearance in that keffiyeh and the Al-Qassam headband represented an extension of the path of the martyr fighter leaders such as Imad Aqil, Yahya Ayyash, and others, continuing their path of holy Jihad, and expressing deep pride in our Palestinian identity and our cultural and historical heritage.

He was able to formulate speeches in a unique and balanced language, building intelligently on the directives, determinants, and ideas of his leadership. His words gained the acceptance and passion of the Palestinian masses wherever they were, and the support of the sincere sons of the Arab and Islamic nation and the free people of the world. His language was a light and a guide to the path of glory and dignity, and a fire that enraged enemies and hypocrites.

The discourse of “Abu Obeida” stemmed from Islamic doctrinal pillars and religious, historical, humanitarian, and legal foundations, addressing the origin of the conflict with the zionists on the land of Palestine, exposing their corruption and criminality, and the complicity of major world powers that supported this usurping entity at the expense of Palestinian rights and criminalized its valiant resistance.

His discourse was characterized by constant emphasis on the unity of the Palestinian rank, bringing together the factions of resistance work and the sons of our people of all spectrums and orientations, reinforcing national constants and central issues, foremost among them Al-Quds and the prisoners.

In every speech, the military spokesman documented important pillars for the fighters of Palestine on various levels. His words carried confidence and steadfastness, as his strong voice was linked to the glories of our people and the heroism of their resistance. Through his masterful performance, he demonstrated the strength and vigor of the resistance, and exposed the humiliation and brokenness of the zionist enemy and the fragility of its entity, often spreading terror among its internal public and army.

His speech was mixed with feelings of love, emotion, and loyalty to our patient and steadfast people. He always instilled hope in their hearts, offering praise and support, so his speech enjoyed the trust and deep respect of our people, and his roaring voice was a source of hope for the oppressed.

In the face of the zionist enemy’s lies, the discourse of “Abu Obeida” became an undeniable reference. The enemy’s media would publish it as the most truthful source, thereby belying the narrative of their zionist leaders. Thus, the narrative of the Palestinian resistance was strengthened in the consciousness of the enemy’s public, who began waiting for Al-Qassam’s announcements to document facts and verify the news. The enemy’s public often relied on his instructions to determine their steps in emerging from shelters and knowing the developments of the battle.

He lived through the suffering, pain, displacement, and hunger with his people, like other fighters and leaders of our people, which increased his closeness to hearts and acceptance in the souls of his grieving people.

He was subjected to several assassination attempts during the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood, from which Allah saved him. They did not deter him from continuing his jihadist role, and despite this, he insisted on appearing in periodic speeches to address his people and the masses of his nation and to deliver the voice of the resistance from inside the battlefield.

The Departure of the Leader
Our martyr commander dismounted after two decades of enraging the enemies and soothing the hearts of the believers, meeting Allah in the best state. And what sign is more indicative of truthfulness with Allah than for Allah to raise his mention among the worlds and grant him acceptance on earth?

He departed after leading the Al-Qassam media apparatus with all competence, recording with his brothers what both friend and foe saw of honorable performance. He conveyed to the world the events of the Al-Qassam Flood in their most splendid forms, and the heroism of the fighters of Gaza that astounded the world and enraged the enemies.

Our martyr commander Hudhayfa Al-Kahlout ascended following a cowardly assassination operation on August 30, 2025, accompanied by his wife and children Layan, Minnatullah, and Yaman, after a jihadist journey full of great achievements that accumulated and formed a consciousness and firm certainty in the minds of our people and future generations regarding the correctness of the choice of jihad and resistance, and that the occupation is vanishing, and that victory is our ally by Allah’s permission and His true promise.

He was absent from this world, leaving behind a great media legacy, a solid structure, and a skillful work system containing hundreds of sincere media fighters that relies on institutionalism, where a commander is succeeded by commanders, Allah willing.

Who Was Abu Obeida, the Man Who Sowed Fear in the Hearts of Colonizers

Al-mulatham, as he has become known among Arabic speakers, a romanized Arabic word meaning “the masked one”, al-Qassam Brigades spokesperson Abu Obeida has become a legendary figure among pro-Palestinians and a source of horror for the Israelis throughout not just this war on Gaza, but any and every operation carried out by the Palestinian Resistance against the Zionist occupation.

“Permission [to fight back] is [hereby] granted to those being fought, for they have been wronged. And indeed, Allah is Most Capable of helping them [prevail],” Al-Hajj 22:39. Those are the first words Abu Obeida uttered publicly during a humble press statement from the Jabalia refugee camp in late September 2004. Though his mask was different, donning a balaclava at the time, Abu Obeida’s voice would resonate with the supporters and opponents of the Palestinian cause alike.

Reports claim that he was 18 at the time of said address, where he was allegedly told to simply read aloud and leave the conference, according to Metras. Though it was merely a few minutes long, the address would change his name forever, making him synonymous with triumph for Palestine and devastation for the Zionist regime.

Israeli faltering in Gaza: A tale as old as time

The statement at the time was highlighting Israeli failures in military operations in northern Gaza, and specifically the refugee camp in the city of Jabalia, in the midst of the battles leading up to the liberation of the Gaza Strip from Israeli occupation. “[The unfolding battles] are the epitome of Israeli military failure, for the enemy possesses a deadly military force, comprising fighter jets, tanks, and missiles, which it is using to bomb civilians and target women and children. Meanwhile, the valiant Resistance, which has none of the aforementioned, is targeting soldiers and occupiers,” Abu Obeida said, noting that the al-Qassam Brigades had killed at least seven Zionist soldiers within three days of battles.

Just like that, Abu Obeida quickly rose to legendary status, admired by supporters of the Resistance against the Israeli occupation across religions, sects, and nationalities. It was not until 2007, however, that he was officially named the spokesperson of the al-Qassam Brigades, a role he assumed one year after announcing the landmark operation in which the Resistance captured Zionist soldier Gilad Shalit, who remained in captivity for more than five years.

The addresses mirror those Abu Obeida would make later on in his career, breaking the news of Zionist losses and failures in Gaza through his fiery addresses that touched the heart of every listener, regardless of the language barrier.

The morale of the Resistance

With each round of confrontations, with each war waged on Gaza, Abu Obeida rose more and more in prominence, with people from all walks of life waiting for his threatening yet reassuring eyes, veiled with a red koufiyyeh, to deliver news desired by the public, dreaded by the Israelis.

Throughout the years, Abu Obeida gained a wider and wider regional as well as international attention, especially during 2008’s Battle of al-Furqan, which saw the Zionist occupation launching an onslaught on Gaza a mere three years after its liberation. While communication lines were massively disrupted, Abu Obeida still appeared as a consistent figure, offering the public updates, making threats against the Israeli occupation, and announcing Israeli losses while reassuring supporters that the Resistance forces remained intact.

He offered morale not only to spectators outside of Gaza, but also to the people of Gaza themselves, appearing as a beacon of optimism in the midst of heavy bombardment that indiscriminately claimed the lives of thousands of Palestinians. Defiantly, during the war, Abu Obeida once declared, “Gilad Shalit misses you” in reference to the Israelis as he underlined that the Israeli regime was concealing casualties and losses caused by Resistance operations targeting the occupied Palestinian territories.

Later on, between 2010 and 2014, Abu Obeida received more screen time, and with each public appearance, his popularity grew exponentially. He was a champion of rejecting ‘peace’ talks with the Zionist occupation, framing them as a betrayal of the Palestinian cause and warning against the Israeli plans to expand settlements in the occupied West Bank, which, in turn, gave al-Qassam more impetus as the guarantors of Palestine and its ultimate liberation.

In 2014, during the Battle of the Withered Grain, Abu Obeida once more made an announcement as momentous as his announcement years earlier, declaring that al-Qassam had captured yet another Zionist soldier, this time from al-Shujaiyya, a stronghold of Palestinian resilience. Oron Shaul had been captured by Hamas on July 21. Days later, on August 1, al-Qassam captured Hadar Goldin near Rafah. Shaul would not return until 2025, when the Israeli occupation forces retrieved his remains during their latest invasion of Gaza.

He was also just as important in 2020, laying the groundwork for 2021’s Battle of Seif al-Quds by stressing that Israeli plans to further occupy the West Bank served as a “declaration of war”. In May of 2021, during said battle, he was the one to break the news that bloomed glee in the hearts of the supporters of the Palestinian cause, announcing that the Resistance’s rockets were hitting all major occupied Palestinian cities, stressing that such operations had become “easier than drinking water” for Hamas. He also later proclaimed that the battle saw the Resistance achieve a victory in the face of the Zionist occupation, painting the latter as a “fragile enemy”.

The man who unleashed the flood

Because he is a military spokesperson, it is not likely that he played a role in carrying out October 7’s Operation al-Aqsa Flood. However, Abu Obeida valiantly defended the people of Gaza, declaring that any attacks targeting civilians would be met with a proportionate response against the Zionist occupation, offering one ultimatum after another in a bid to lighten the blows being dealt to Palestinian civilians amid the unfolding genocide.

Week after week, month after month, Abu Obeida, visibly losing weight due to the ongoing famine in Gaza, remained a guarantor of morale for the Palestinian and Arab people alike, with even children awaiting his televised appearances and donning military fatigues similar to his and raising their index finger just like him, impersonating him in praise as he became an idol to many.

Due to his anonymity, safeguarded by the symbolic koufiyyeh for over two decades, Abu Obeida transcended his mere person, becoming a movement of his own and driving the message of a collective struggle, essentially becoming a cultural-political symbol embodying liberation.

Throughout the years, Abu Obeida maintained the same tone and cadence when speaking, allowing him to become a trademark of defiance in his own right, as he employed a stern language plentiful in literary and Quranic vocabulary, laced with a martial language that caused fear to reverberate through the hearts of the enemies of liberation.

Abu Obeida, just like liberation, became inevitable, and the hope he gave to tens of millions around the world is unmatched, becoming as synonymous with the Palestinian struggle as the koufityeh, the renowned upside-down red arrow, and the AK-47. He was incredibly skilled and was proficient at framing the deafening blows dealt to the Zionist regime.

The man who changed the media

Abu Obeida earned the title “the media commander”, and rightfully so, as he professionally conveyed the proper narrative to ensure that the Resistance’s victory could be seen before all, no matter the outcome.

The masked, shadowy figure, despite his identity remaining concealed, has become one of the most easily recognizable people on the planet due to his addresses that uplifted a people watching their brethren get genocided, as he served as a weapon in the face of the Zionist occupation, more dangerous than any arms in Hamas’ arsenal.

The man who finished all of his remarkable statements with, “It is a struggle [ending in] triumph or martyrdom,” attained the highest honor Man possibly could, achieving the martyrdom he had long desired and worked his entire life toward as he tirelessly ensured that the Resistance’s message and actions made their rounds around the globe and sparking an unmatched pro-Palestinian effort all over the world through his nimble, well-crafted statements that ensured that no matter what the occupation did, it was framed as a defeat for the occupier.

Hamas Spokesperson Abu Obedia Update on State of Resistance

The zionist enemy resumed its barbaric, nazi aggression against our people and families in the Gaza Strip four months ago—after betraying and breaking covenants, turning against the agreement reached with the resistance in January of this year, lying to mediators and to the world, and returning in search of its so-called victory.For four months, the enemy has continued its sadism against civilians and children, indulging its gangs’ obsession with the systematic destruction of neighborhoods, cities, and civilian residential areas. It persists in this battle and in this brutal war against our people.

Twenty-one months—summarized in the steadfastness of mountains from the fighters and resistance of our people, and the patience of prophets from our great, proud, and generous nation.

Twenty-one months of shame and disgrace have haunted the wicked, occupying usurpers, along with disgraceful abandonment by brothers in blood, Arab identity, and Islam—except those whom God has shown mercy among the sincere and the fighters, among the oppressed and overwhelmed peoples, and among the free people of the world who remain in harmony with their humanity.

In recent months, the enemy announced an operation it called “Gideon’s Chariots,” attempting to project biblical myths in order to confer false sanctity on its racist, nazi war—a war resembling nothing but the deeds of devils and the practices of filthy, cowardly gangs.

We confronted the “Gideon’s Chariots” operation—and continue to do so, by the power of God—through a series of “Stones of David” operations, inspired by God’s victory for His believing servant David (peace be upon him) in his confrontation with the oppressive, tyrannical Goliath. God granted our fighters success and guided their aim by His permission. God was with His soldiers, as they repeated with every strike: “And you did not throw when you threw, but God threw.”

Our fighters—side by side with the fighters and resistance members from our brother factions, especially our brothers in Saraya Al-Quds—are engaged in an unequal confrontation, with unmatched faith, great strength, and unbreakable determination, through the power, grace, and success granted by God.

During these months, we have caused hundreds of casualties among the enemy’s soldiers—killed and wounded—and thousands have suffered from psychological disorders and trauma. The number of enemy soldiers committing suicide continues to rise, due to the horror of the filthy and bloody acts they commit, and the magnitude of the resistance they face, surrounded by God’s presence and His soldiers.

Our fighters continue to surprise the enemy with new and varied tactics and methods, having drawn lessons from the longest war and confrontation in our people’s history. They have carried out unique, heroic, and high-level operations. They continue targeting enemy vehicles with shells and explosive devices, engaging in direct combat, sniping soldiers and officers, blowing up buildings and tunnel openings, setting complex ambushes, and launching raids on enemy forces.

The world witnessed our heroes climbing onto enemy vehicles in Khan Younis, reaching the occupying soldiers at point-blank range, pursuing the criminal soldier who had mastered the demolition of civilian homes, finishing him off, and seizing his weapon.

Our fighters have attempted in recent weeks to carry out several operations to capture zionist soldiers. Some of these operations nearly succeeded—were it not for the will of God first, and then the enemy’s use of a tactic of mass killing of its own soldiers suspected of being exposed to capture attempts.

Our fighters’ operations have extended from the far north and east of Beit Hanoun and Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, through the neighborhoods of Al-Tuffah, Shuja’iyya, and Al-Zaytoun in Gaza City, reaching all the way to Khan Younis and Rafah—making Gaza’s resistance the greatest military school for a people’s resistance confronting its occupiers in modern history.

O our people and our nation, we in the Martyr Izz El-Din Al-Qassam Brigades—after 21 months of the Al-Aqsa Flood battle and the zionist nazi war against our people—affirm that our fighters and our brothers in the resistance factions are fully ready to continue a long war of attrition against the occupation forces, regardless of the form of their aggression or their offensive plans. Our fighters have pledged themselves to steadfastness and to inflicting heavy blows on the enemy until the aggression is defeated or they attain martyrdom.

Our fighting is a principled matter and an indisputable right—a sacred religious and national duty. We have no choice but to fight with full strength, determination, and severe might, with the help and support of God. We will fight with the stones of the earth and with what we possess—willpower and believing men who, with little weaponry, perform astonishing miracles by God’s grace.

The strategy and decision of the Al-Qassam leadership at this stage is to ensure deadly blows against enemy soldiers, carry out focused, high-impact operations at point-blank range, and pursue the capture of zionist soldiers.

If the enemy’s terrorist government chooses to continue the war of extermination, it is at the same time choosing to continue receiving the coffins of its soldiers and officers. Their tanks will not save them, nor will they protect them from the torrents of death forged by faithful hands and cast by the hand of God. They thought their fortresses would protect them from God—but God came to them from where they did not expect and cast terror into their hearts.

We are proud of the steadfastness and heroism of our fighters, and we are deeply aware of the pain and suffering endured by our wounded people and our patient families—whose pain we live with day by day. Our fulfillment of the duty entrusted to us by our Lord, in resisting and fighting this enemy, does not absolve the two-billion-strong nation from its own duty—a duty it has unfortunately abandoned.

Our enemy is supplied by the most powerful oppressive forces in the world with endless convoys of weapons and ammunition, while the regimes and powers of our own nation look on at their suffering in the land of steadfastness—as they are killed by the tens of thousands, starved, and denied water and medicine.

We say this to history—with all bitterness and pain—and in front of all the sons and daughters of our nation: O leaders of this Islamic and Arab nation, O its elites and major parties, O its scholars—you are our adversaries before Almighty God. You are the adversaries of every orphaned child, every grieving mother, every displaced, homeless, wounded, devastated, and starving person. Your necks are burdened with the blood of tens of thousands of innocents who were betrayed by your silence.

This criminal nazi enemy would never have committed this genocide before your very eyes and ears had it not been confident of impunity, assured of your silence, and secure in your betrayal. We do not absolve anyone of responsibility for this flowing blood, and we exclude no one who possesses the ability to act—each according to their capacity and influence.

By God, we see the humiliation and contempt with which the enemy treats our nation—its desecration of it, its rampage through it—and our hearts bleed with pain, because we understand the cowardice, weakness, and disgrace of this enemy, and its true size.

Salutations to all the free people in the world who are striving to show solidarity, break the siege, and lift the oppression from our people by all means—disregarding danger, betrayal, and attempts at defamation by the hypocrites of this nation, who think every outcry is aimed at them.

All initiatives and expressions of solidarity from the free people of the world—whether they succeed or are sabotaged under zionist pressure—are a source of pride and honor for our people. We call for these efforts to escalate and continue, and for the exposure of this enemy by every means and in every arena and field.

We strongly support the stance of the Palestinian resistance delegation in the indirect negotiations with the enemy. We have repeatedly offered in recent months a comprehensive deal in which we would release all of the enemy’s prisoners at once—but the war criminal Netanyahu and his ministers from the nazi movement have rejected this offer.

It has become clear to us that the government of the criminal Netanyahu has no real interest in the captives because they are soldiers. Their case is not a priority, and the regime has prepared the public to accept the possibility that they are all dead. Still, we have held to preserving their lives as much as possible until now.

We are closely monitoring the ongoing negotiations, and we hope they lead to an agreement and a deal that guarantees an end to the war on our people, a withdrawal of occupation forces, and relief for our families. But if the enemy remains obstinate and withdraws from this round—as it has done in every previous one—then we do not guarantee any return to partial deals or to the “ten prisoners” proposal.

One of the clearest signs of the zionist failure in confronting the resistance and breaking our people’s will is its resort to vile solutions—war crimes, collective punishment, genocide, and ethnic cleansing—openly supported, unfortunately, by the U.S. administration.

The enemy excels in torturing innocents, openly declares his intention to displace people, boasts about systematic destruction as a military achievement, and presents plans to the world for establishing Nazi concentration camps under false, deceptive humanitarian pretexts.

It is as if this enemy wants to practice experiments that occurred many decades ago, and inflict them upon its enemies with a sadism and criminality that makes Nazism pale in comparison, which necessitates the rejection of these camps by the entire world.

The lie of antisemitism, which our enemies have fed on for decades, will be a farce and a scandal. It is not our people’s fault to pay the price for the psychological complexes of criminal zionism; rather, the zionists must know that the reason for nations’ animosity and innate hatred towards them is their actions and crimes against humanity.

Attempts to employ mercenaries and agents for the occupation under Arab names are a sign of failure, and a guaranteed recipe for defeat. O descendants of Yousef (Prophet Joesph) the Truthful, when his brothers abandoned him and cast him into the bottom of the well, victory and empowerment came to him. O beloved of Muhammad (peace be upon him), who was besieged in the valley, expelled to the cave, and sought refuge in Uhud, then relief came to him from his Lord: “Allah will suffice you against them.”

O brothers of the family of Yasir, when they were tortured for the sake of Allah, they were given glad tidings: “Patience, O family of Yasir, for your appointed time is Paradise.” Indeed, your steadfastness despite abandonment, your patience, your generosity, and your defiance of oppression and deprivation, are what most enrages your enemies. And this night will surely have an end, and victory comes with patience, and relief with distress, and indeed, with hardship comes ease.

Abu Obeida Posts Shortly After Zionist Reports About His Assassination

Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson for Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades, posted on social media shortly after Israeli rumors claiming he was assassinated in the Zionist bombing of the Gaza European Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, on Tuesday evening.

With a series of intensive airstrikes, the occupation military struck the hospital and its surroundings, causing extensive destruction and resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries.

At least 28 people were killed and 70 others were injured as a result of the brutal massacre.

Some Israeli reports circulated claiming that Abu Obeida was assassinated in the massive strike. But the Palestinian spokesperson automatically denied the Zionist allegations when he posted, commenting on a West Bank shooting operation that killed a settler and seriously injured two others near the settlement of Bruchin, in Salfit, close to Nablus.

The military spokesperson of the al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, affirmed on Thursday that Zionist threats of war will only result in disappointment for the occupying forces and will not lead to the release of its captives.

In his message to the Islamic nation, Abu Obeida stated, “Your brothers in faith have sanctified their fasting with a stream of pure blood,” adding that the Muslim world would not regain its status among nations until the holy land is cleansed of the occupiers’ defilement.

He called on all fair-minded individuals and human rights advocates to expose the crimes committed against Palestinian prisoners, highlighting the Western double standards that “weep over dozens of enemy captives while disregarding the safety of our prisoners.”
