“Out of the Blue”

The Sapphire Sea was as still as it could be, When the stars had retreated and the moon slipped away, Leaving a deep, heavy blue in the bay. Then, low on the ridge where the earth meets the sky, A single sliver ember sparked, Igniting the edge of the lingering dark. It grew into Apricot, spilled into Peach, Painting the clouds a fiery hue- An extension of colors no one could reach. Then, out of the blue indigo sky, Rose a glorious furnace of light. What was frozen in quiet and cold, Awoke to a morning of Tangerine Gold.
