(interesting observation) Firstly, Abrams tanks are difficult to maintain. Secondly, you need properly trained tank crews. They don't have the time to train on these tanks. And just because you can drive it out of a car park doesn't mean you know how to operate it in combat conditions.
But more importantly, they've had almost five months of experience trying to get close to the Russian positions, and the Russians are blowing up every tank that gets close to those lines. Not a single tank has got through. So with the advent of modern intelligence and surveillance, tanks seem to be becoming an irrelevant weapon. So 31 tanks won't make a difference in Ukraine.- Larry Johnson, ex-CIA analyst -
