The differences Frontex makes in the lives of people on the move:

➡️ Pushbacks: In 2023 'at least' 120.457 incidents at the EU's external and internal borders (EPRS)

➡️ At sea: Failure to render assistance to people on the move in distress.

➡️ Testimonies: Beatings, forced river crossings, theft by border agents. With Frontex officers present.

➡️ 65,000 deportations: With Frontex involvement last year. 1 in 3 was carried out by force. (rnd)

➡️ 754 million Euros:
this was the budget of Frontex in 2022. (Frontex)

➡️ 1,2 billion Euros:
this is the budget of Frontex in 2026. (EUR-Lex)

➡️ An increase of 59%

➡️ 749 people:

A new reform ➡️

A reform of Frontex is planned this year....

Frontex could take an even larger role in deportations from EU states.

➡️ A role in return hubs:
The Agency could also become involved in the planned EU deportation centers.

➡️ Deportations beyond the EU:
Under the reform, Frontex could be given the power to deport people from one non-EU country to another. For example, from Tunisia to Mauritania.

FRONTEX IS THE FASTEST GROWING EU AGENCY.

'Yesterday, we caught Frontex doing illegal shit:

Our aircrew overheard a Frontex plane sending Libyan militias the exact coordinates of people fleeing Libya, although Solidaire, a real rescue ship, was in the area and responded to rescue the ~70 people.

Organizing the abduction of people at sea back to where they face violence is illegal.

Frontex is directly responsible for what happened next:

A man in military clothing climbed onto the wooden boat, tookthe wheel and drove the boat east.

A second speedboat joined: 2 assets forcing ~70 people back to where they fled from.

Frontex is known for enabling crimes & it tries hard to rebrand. But we're here to tell you: Frontex is as bad as ever and must be abolished.'

1. Since 2014, over 29,442 people have drowned in the Mediterranean Sea, where Frontex operates covering the European sea borders.

2. Frontex communicates the position of migrant boats to Libyan militias who abduct people at sea and force them into torture camps.

3. Frontex has coordinated the deportation of 104,000+ people from Europe since 2006.

4. Frontex has coordinated deportation flights in which people have been tortured.

5. Frontex is complicit in the outsourcing of border control to countries on the African continent, for example through the Africa-Frontex Intelligence Community network which has 30+ African states as members.

6. Frontex has been recruiting an army of border guards who can own and use hand-guns, and aims to have 10,000 guards by 2027.

7. Frontex is complicit in illegal and life-threatening pushbacks of people from Greece to Turkey. Since 2020, more than 2000 such incidents have taken place.

8. Frontex has cooperated with national border guards in Hungary, Bulgaria, and Greece that pepper sprayed and beat people with night-sticks, and chased them through forests with dogs.
