Our aircrew overheard a Frontex plane sending Libyan militias the exact coordinates of people fleeing Libya, although Solidaire, a real rescue ship, was in the area and responded to rescue the ~70 people.
Organizing the abduction of people at sea back to where they face violence is illegal.
Frontex is directly responsible for what happened next:
A man in military clothing climbed onto the wooden boat, tookthe wheel and drove the boat east.
A second speedboat joined: 2 assets forcing ~70 people back to where they fled from.

Italien blockiert Rettungsschiff Aurora trotz 71 vermisster Personen im Mittelmeer
‚Nach der Rettung von 44 gestrandeten Personen von der verlassenen Ölplattform Didon in internationalen Gewässern im Mittelmeer, setzen italienische Behörden das Rettungsschiff Aurora der zivilgesellschaftlichen Organisation Sea-Watch fest. Zusätzlich wird der Organisation eine Strafe zwischen 2.000 und 10.000€ auferlegt. Die genaue Länge der Festsetzung und Summe der Strafe wird ihr in den kommenden Tagen mitgeteilt.
Die Überlebenden harrten nach eigenen Angaben seit Montag auf der Plattform aus. Nach dem Osterwochenende gelten aufgrund eines Schiffbruchs im zentralen Mittelmeer 71 Menschen als vermisst. Zuvor waren innerhalb von wenigen Tagen mindestens 104 Menschen auf ihrer Flucht über das Meer gestorben.….‘

Ein neuer UN-Bericht dokumentiert systematische Verbrechen an Migrant*innen in #Libyen. Die EU-Kommission veröffentlicht ihre Berichte dazu aber nicht….
‚Zwischen Januar 2024 und November 2025 dokumentiert »Business as usual« unter anderem willkürliche Inhaftierungen, Verschleppungen, sexuelle Gewalt gegen Frauen, Männer und Kinder sowie das gewaltsame Abfangen von Booten auf dem Mittelmeer durch die libysche Küstenwache.
Genannt wird in dem Bericht auch die EU-Grenzagentur Frontex, die der libyschen Küstenwache wiederholt die Koordinaten von Migrantenbooten übermittelt hat….‘

19 Tote nach Stunden ohne Hilfe: Neue Hinweise belasten europäische Behörden
‚19 Personen sind gestern, am 1. April 2026, auf ihrer Flucht über das Mittelmeer gestorben. Sie wurden von der italienischen Küstenwache geborgen und in Lampedusa an Land gebracht. 5 Menschen sind weiterhin in kritischem Zustand. 58 Überlebende wurden durch die Küstenwache gerettet. Nach eigener Recherche hat die Seenotrettungsorganisation Sea-Watch nun mehrere Indizien für eine willentlich unterlassene Hilfeleistung durch italienische Behörden vorliegen.
Das italienische Aufklärungs-Flugzeug IAM4101 flog einen Tag vor der Rettung des in Seenot geratenen Bootes, am 31.3.2026, nur 14 nautische Meilen vom Unglücksort entfernt, allerdings ohne einen öffentlich einsehbaren Notruf zu senden. Außerdem informierte das Frontex-Flugzeug Eagle 2 zweimal am 30.3.2026 über ein Schlauchboot in Seenot.….‘
