Well it's of course very unfortunate that LLMs are the tool that people ended up getting obsessed over, but this (huge... "large") implementation detail aside, it is a natural instinct for an archivist to seek building a semantic index of "everything that has ever made it into the public discourse"

Copyright and patents are why we can't have nice things. I heard that a bunch of Xeno music on YouTube got taken down by an "AI"-based company that helps companies take down stuff they deem infringes their copyright, and it's assumed Nintendo hired them to do it. One of these channels that's gone is sadly Nia Xenoblade Is Trans.
