Starting at 1:15 PDT (Pacific/Los Angeles), I am going to delve into my production process, from sketch to finish song. This is part one! Let's talk about Move, inspiration, and first steps!

Version 2.0 of #AbletonMove and #AbletonNote is less than a week away.

Just dropped the most uplifting little beat. Lemonade Stand. Soft, minimal, G sharp minor. Perfect April listening.

I just received my second-hand Ableton Move today. Installation of Move Everything worked flawlessly, screen reader is up and running, however pairing it with my WiFi doesn't seem to be accessible (yet). Selecting it works, but confirming makes it go silent, presumably because the access key input doesn't speak. Is there any way to get it into a WiFi accessibly I haven't figured out yet?

I have a couple other things I could post, but they weren't made with #abletonmove, they were made with #abletonnote Lol, and it's not #noteuary . :D

I made a simple app that makes it possible to use the Ableton Move as a generic MIDI control surface. it's available for free on github. check it out! https://youtu.be/3MFJ3M2qzuE #ableton #abletonmove #midi #synth

Been having fun with #AbletonMove Here's another set of clips. I actually managed to make #Phonk with it.

Last year I gave a presentation at #ADC24 about #AbletonMove and finally that presentation is online. it's in a much longer video so I've shared where my bit starts, which is around the 1 hour 21 minute mark. I was told to keep it to 10 minutes, so that's what I did. https://youtu.be/ZkZ5lu3yEZk?si=zXyftn3mqr0hJHu3&t=4859

From the blog entry:
'Tapestry’s sounds are a joy to use and were crafted by Andre Louis, the creator of Twitterrific’s sound effects. We’re pleased to feature Andre’s excellent work once again, but if you prefer silence, you can easily turn sound effects off in Settings > Behavior.'By the way I used #AbletonMove to create the sounds, as I wanted to challenge myself to create DAWless. Of course I had to edit the sounds later, but yep. All creation done on move directly.
Thanks to @Iconfactory for allowing me the privilege of being a part of this.Source: https://blog.iconfactory.com/2025/05/tapestry-1-2-actions-and-sounds-to-soothe-the-social-beast/

My plan to start the day.

HTe #Movuary continues. A challenge to produce something with the #AbletonMove every day in february. Todays submission is my attempt to create a typical rap beat. Deep bass, some claps and bells are a thing in this little loop. Enjoy.

Ableton Move: A Groove In Three (21 Dec 2024) https://youtu.be/pz4VGYRJaxs
I'm trying a concept idea in which I put on my Meta Ray-ban glasses and record a groove on my Ableton Move in three minutes or less.
When the video cuts, that's it. These glasses only record for that long, so it has to fit in that time-frame. No edits, no redo's, that's it!If you like the idea and want to hear more, let me know.

If you've been looking for that next semi-cheap music-making fix and perhaps a Christmas present to yourself, but haven't decided what to get, consider Ableton Move.
If you look at the official videos, literature and documentation, you'd be fooled into thinking that it's not actually accessible. This is incorrect.
It runs a web-server for helping you manage samples, recordings and sets, but it also has an undocumented screen-reader which I demonstrate in this video.
Next to Komplete Kontrol, I can say that this has been the most innovative, fun and game-changing piece of hardware I've owned and I thoroughly enjoy working with it.#InspiredBySound - Let's Move! (Ableton Move Accessibility Overview) https://youtu.be/p8IbinbOhY4
Excerpt from Peter Kirn's blog about Move:
‘How do I access Move with a screen reader?
Andre Louis has a walkthrough for you, as pointed out here in comments! And as always, it’s terrific. This is honestly worth a watch for sighted users, too, to understand how these interactions work – and it’s required viewing if you work in instrument design.’

I continue to love the hell out of this little groovebox device. The four-track limit isn't really much of one with a little bit of creative thinking, so yeah.

#AbletonMove scheint, dem in der Anleitung in einem Screenshot sichtbaren Logfile nach, intern auf einem #RaspberryPi Compute Module zu basieren.
Spannend. Mal schauen, wann es alternative #Firmware gibt.

I have done more things with samples using #AbletonMove than I ever did with anything else in my life up to this point. Having so much fun with this thing!

The last time I made a video about #Ableton, it was to do with Note, their iOS music-making app.
This video is an Ableton-first, in which I bring you their newest piece of hardware, #AbletonMove.
It ships with a web-based screen-reader and I've been enjoying it for many months.
It uses sounds from Note, but in a hardware form.
32 poly-aftertouch pads, four tracks of midi (or samples,) 8 knobs, USB-C for power and controlling Ableton Live and a USB-A port for connecting class-compliant midi devices, should you wish to trigger it from a keyboard. Please be advised that screen-reader support is currently an experimental feature and is not fully fleshed out.
Not all aspects of the experience are as desired and there are a few kinks, but it is very much better than nothing whatsoever, and I am extremely thankful to the team that made this possible.Ableton themselves are not talking about this screen-reader function in any of their literature, but I think it's important enough that it deserves recognition, and to bring an accessible groove-box to blind people in this way.

Ableton Move first impressions: if OP-Z is 1 AM on a Saturday night, Move is a long boozy Friday lunch.
It’s luxurious, playful, forgiving, and everything just works how you’d expect. It eggs you on, from setting up random presets in a very standard configuration when you make a new clip, to making everything you do explicit. It’s extremely tactile and explorable. It’s an instrument that embodies the phrase “no worries”.
It’s in a real sweet spot for me I reckon. I have a lot of groove boxes but this one is really clicking. It’s really the first one that actually feels like a musical sketch pad.
