abide Returns With New Single “forget to pretend”
Photo courtesy of the band.Alternative/nu-metal project abide has released “forget to pretend,” a heavy, emotionally direct single that bridges the gap between early-2000s grit and modern dynamics. Driven by the prominent, hard-hitting drum work of Jack Golightly, the track is a masterclass in pressure-and-release songwriting.
Produced by abide and mixed by legendary engineer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Motörhead), the single explores the painful realization of being overlooked in a relationship. Lyrically, it captures the collapse of denial and the sting of neglect. By prioritizing atmosphere and groove over genre clichés, abide has crafted a nostalgic and urgent track, setting a high bar for their upcoming 2026 releases.

This has been a poor week; the weight of happenings in the world are quite crushing. We shouldn't be blaming this whole #AI hellscape on people who use it. It's all on the #BigTech companies who are manufacturing demand and shoving it in all of our faces. We end up getting tricked into using it in one way or another. Yes, hate on Big Tech for this but don't blame the individuals who use it as they no not what they do. We need to educate people about the problems calmly and direct the anger at the corporations pushing this BS. If you hate on people who use AI, you're being very undude and not helping the situation. Let us all #abide together and resist big tech. We can do this!

AlterNet—#Twitter owner #ElonMusk launched a #poll on Sunday afternoon asking users to #vote on whether he should stay on as the social media giant's #leader.
"I will #abide by the results of this poll," Musk pledged.
The survey ultimately received more than 17.5 million responses. A clear majority – 57.5 percent – answered in the #affirmative, meaning that Musk now has to decide if he will keep his word.
