Those of us in other schools around Britain sat in disbelief as our teachers told us of the horror. -

On the anniversary of the #Aberfan Disaster, which happened long before I was born, I think about the village, the memorial garden now there, and visiting the cemetery and seeing so many graves of children. It’s all so well kept, and thought provoking. I’m glad that after all these years, it is talked about with respect.

59 years ago the Aberfan disaster took place taking the lives of many children at their primary school. My grandfather went and dug for survivors, and by all accounts was never the same afterwards!

Also somehow can’t get my head around the fact that we have already now reached the point where I am texting a climate activist friend, twice in two weeks: are you ok? Stay safe
