It is very clear to me that the news in #Australia (and possibly elsewhere) is compiled and presented by #Reporters only. That is to say, there is no #Journalism involved. No analysis, no critical thinking skills isinvolved and certainly very little, if any, informative reports on which an audiance might rely to form a considered opinion.

E.g. On #ABCNews24, the ‘reporter’ correctly parrotted the words of those opposed to any #GasProfitTax because ‘it would impact adversely Australian relations with its trading partners who rely on the exported gas’. Coming after a torrent of words describing what occured during the Parliamentary Estimate Committee on the matter, the viewer might be forgiven for not taking the time to weight the words and apply some logic: towit, a tax on gas profit does nothing to alter the amount of gas exported, hence no effect on trading partner relationships. Therefore, the #GasLobby is deliberatly misdirecting by spreading disinformation. And the same is true with that lobby group’s tired dire warning that the tax will deincentivise future investors. BS of course, because if there is a dollar to be made and despite a very high tax on profit, as in Denmark, there is still a buck to be made which investor will of course put up capital funds in order to collect.
