Bien qu'il semble globalement tourner conformément aux lois de la physique, certaines régions proches de l’étoile présentent une déviation inattendue. L’origine de cette anomalie ? Astrônomos do CNRS e da Universidade de Bordeaux observaram pela primeira vez a rotação de um disco protoplanetário em torno da estrela AB Aurigae, usando o instrumento SPHERE do Observatório Europeu do Sul. A descoberta traz novos insights sobre a formação de planetas em sistemas estelares.
