This big guy was abandoned in a cardboard box over a hundred miles from the shore, when a trailer was moved out of. By a lucky happenstance, I was alerted and claimed him. I kept him for about a year, before driving from North GA to North Kentucky to turn him over to a far more experienced hermit crab keeper.
Sadly, he passed a few months later, in a failed molt. In retrospect, it probably would have been best to release him on a beach.
