Looks like this is in fact a #VLC bug. When I throw either the .ISO, or the .CUE/.BIN (from the #Aaru dump) against VLC, or point it towards the virtual cd/dvd drive where it is mounted it'll have a distorted play. Image overlayed with some green artefacts (intro + menu) and for the main movie the picture (except for a handfull of still frames at random intervals) cutting out entirely.
HOWEVER when I point VLC directly at the "\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO" file it plays it just fine...

I thought that other #CD was backing up quite slowly. Well this one is even slower. It takes almost 20 seconds per sector (thankfully not for all of them)
Also it causes a stand-by bug with the drive. when aaru leaves the drive idle for a bit too long I've to manually open and close the tray again or it will just silently ignore the commands and aaru will tink it accesses the disk but the drive actually doesn't do anything…

Bin gerade mal dabei ein paar Backups von sehr alten CDs zu machen. Nur... welches Format / Programm nimmt man da? Well, since we are now on a different platform, I can continue my evangelisation about #Aaru, the open-source software project to preserve/dump all storage media from the very old to the cutting edge, as well as to give detailed information about any supported image file (whether from Aaru or not) and to extract the files from those images. #digipres
