If we want TK to continue existing, in which forms can this be possible?

We started these discussions with organisers, musicians and audience in May, and will continue this fall trying to map out concrete possible steps for the future of the space.

Mikä Toinen Kerros?

Toinen Kerros on yhteisölähtöinen tila äänitaiteelle ja kokeelliselle musiikille Vallilassa, Helsingissä.

Tavoitteenamme on tehdä Toisesta Kerroksesta paikka yhteisöllisyyden rakentamiselle, yhteiskuraatiolle ja yhteisöllisille käytännöille. Tila on epäkaupallinen ja antiautoritaarinen.

Toinen Kerros pyrkii siis olemaan jotain muuta kuin vain paikka keikoille: matalan kynnyksen yhteisölähtöinen tila.

#toinenkerros #äänenlumo #experimentalmusic #koneensäätiö #kokeellinen

What is Toinen Kerros?

Toinen Kerros is a community-driven space for sonic art & experimental music in Helsinki.

We aim to make TK a place for community building, co-curation & commoning practices. Non-commercial, non-authoritarian.

So not just a place for gigs, but a low-threshold, community-driven space.
That means the decisions, tasks, and resources are shared within the sonic arts community at large.

Täällä ollaan! Here we are!

Äänen Lumo is an association promoting experimental music & sonic arts in Finland.

Currently we run Toinen Kerros in Helsinki, a volunteer-led, low treshold, DIY space for presenting, practicing, and encountering sonic art practices.

Toinen kerros is founded and currently facilitated by the association Äänen Lumo, and it aims to function as a community space.
