  1. FrameThrower: RGMtoHDMI adapter now also for Amiga 600

Following the Amiga 500 and 2000 models, the FrameThrower adapter is now also available in a version for the Amiga 600. FrameThrower is a PiStorm expansion that allows the Amiga’s RGB signals to be output directly by an HDMI interface.

However, audio transmission is not yet implemented in the software; this is expected to be added later.

  6. Another computer (#Amiga #A600) I brought home from last fair. Time to crack it open and check the caps situation. Came from the same source as the 500+ that already had the battery replaced, so I wonder if they did already swap the caps here.

  11. Overhauling an Amiga 600.

Some time ago I acquired a haul of Commodore stuff - fresh from the attic.

Usually I's not doing C= these days, but I had an A2000 during university ... sooo

    The haul consisted of a
    - highly modded C=64
    - A600
    - A1200
    and
    - A2000

Since then I am working on restoring them and the A600 is about to be finished ... only wating for sun to retrobright the keycaps.
    It was a journey.
    - cleaning the case
    - replaced all SMDs with polymer caps
    - hat to diagnose a non-working mouse/joystick ... turned out to be a defective LS157
    - new membrane for the keyboard
    - implanting a HD
    - servicing the floppy, didn't note changes and was erratic in reading disks
    - repairing the A601 RAM/RTC (exploded battery)
    and, last step ...
    - replacing the broken off clips

So - almost done. My plan is to sell off the A600 (and later the A1200 to new happy owners to cross-finance the A2000 ;).

  24. I skipped the #16bit era and went straight from 8 to 32 bits. I'm taking huge delight in rediscovering it now!

I got started in computing with an #Atari800, and was aware that the #Amiga was the spiritual successor to the former machine. I've since picked up an #A600 (unloved when it was released, a great bit of kit in retrospect) which I'm making friends with.

What's surprised me though is the dearth of introductory documentation for the Amiga. Take a look at this documentation I got with this #Atari520STFM: An Owner's Manual and a three volume Discovery Pack.

Can someone point me at equivalent documentation for the #Amiga600, please?
