I'm a bit worried about the temperatures in my #Amiga500.
The CPU is a ST TS68000CP8 and according to the datasheet, the operating temperature range is 0 to 70°C. After an hour of activity, it is almost 80°C...
The Denise (OCS) has same operating range and stays under 60°C, so inside the range.
The fat Agnus (ECS 1MB) almost reaches 60°C, but I couldn't find a datasheet, yet. I suppose it's fine, too.
The MC1488 (U38) is the serial line driver, and reaches almost 50°C, although I can't explain to myself why - I have nothing connected and it is a high temperature for idle.
The 74F244 buffer (U35) in the RAM circuit almost reaches 50°C, too - also within the 0 to 70°C range.
The CPU is worrying me most.

Falls wider Erwarten jemand dafür noch Verwendung hat: Ich hab heute Abend einen ganzen Stapel alter Workbench 1.3.2 Disketten online gestelllt. Verschiedene Versionen für den Amiga A500/A2000. Die dürften alle um 1989 erschienen sein. Deutsche Releases, jedoch großteils auf Englisch, wie damals noch üblich.

Today, I received my #RGBtoHDMI for my #Amiga500 and the first thing I did after initial test was installing the audio board.
I had two options, #soldering it to the RGBtoHDMI, floating in the air, or at the back of the #RaspberryPiZero. I decided to try the first. Luckily there was enough clearance underneath to not touch any components. I did bend the legs of the capacitors a bit first.
The image is a lot clearer now, I'm satisfied.

Vor einem knappen Jahr habe ich von einem Bekannten einen A500 nebst einem großen Pappkarton Disketten und ein paar Büchern übernommen. Ich war lange unschlüssig, was damit anfangen. The a500-sd-plus-controller is plugged onto the CIA A chip of the Amiga 500, enabling the use of two SD cards and a 10 Mbit network connection. One SD card is intended as hard drive, the other as a hot-swappable medium. -
Found this in an auction for a bargain. Untested, sold as scrap. I couldn’t resist. Does it work? What revision it is? Is there a memory expansion? It’s like a mystery bag!

Are there any PS/2 keyboard adapters out there for the #A500 that allow the internal keyboard to still operate, i.e. with a pass through cable connection? Or is there some reason that this isn't technically possible?
I'd like to hook up my A500 to my KVM, but keep the internal keyboard usable if I can, without having to open it up and remove/reinstall the adapter each time.

Alsaplayer is amazing. I love how it follows the Delitracker principle of modularity, low memory footprint, low graphical load on OSS AGA Denise, and many, many different file formats supported. In fact Delitracker supports even the most obscure Amiga audio formats

The change from 8bit to 16bit was huge as you can see from this images. Both images are from the same game and very same screen. The game is "Jabato" a Spanish interactive fiction game of the 80s.
On the left you can see the 8bit MSX version, on the right you can see the 16bit Commodore Amiga 500 version.

Ok, found all my broken traces. Will have to flip the image when I put in the sockets to make jumpers on the underside. For those curious, its a Rev6A board.

I figured I would get around to fixing this up today. Then realizing I did more damage removing the ram chips the way I did. Argh! On one hand I wanna learn to fix this but on the other hand. Should I just grab a reproduction board? My soldering experience and desoldering is a step above nil.
If you can’t see it, what I did was broke the traces on the board around some sockets when I stupidly clipped the legs of the ram out instead of being patient
