@JugglingWithEggs one bit I don't understand in the reports is the claim that legal challenge increased the cost by millions. Does that mean the #A47 impact assessments were so crap it took millions of pounds of work to make them robust enough to survive court? Which would mean that even if Boswell's arguments were without merit, he was justified in asking.

Back in December 2023, Warwickshire County Council stated that it had paused development of a mostly separated cycle scheme to run alongside the A47 from its junction with the A5 towards Nuneaton town centre. Now, the Council’s Forward Plan published in October 2024 shows the decision on the scheme as “Abandoned” and it has been suggested that the Long Shoot portion of the planned route may not be going ahead.

Je n'oublie pas Annonay, et les autres coins fortement touchés par les intempéries. Je me limite juste à évoquer le coin où je vis et les villes dont j'utilise au quotidien les services publics, commerce, moyens de transports.

Très triste de les voir dans cet état. Et en colère.

The wait for construction on Warwickshire’s high quality cycle scheme alongside the A47 Long Shoot in Nuneaton continues as the local authority has confirmed another delay to the project. While the scheme is still expected to proceed, it is now hoped that construction on the 1.4km route will begin early in 2024.

Long Shoot Cycle Scheme: Seven months ago, #Warwickshire_CC told me that legal orders/notices should be advertised in the spring, but I've not seen anything. Has the timetable slipped again? I've asked new questions so hopefully we'll find out!

A quick look at the new junction that has been installed on the A47 Long Shoot, Nuneaton, and the new bit of (as yet unconnected) shared use space and toucan crossing. This will eventually form part of a broader high quality cycle route on the A47, though this specific junction predates the plans for the cycle scheme – hence the lower quality design.
