Seventeenth of my #BooksOf2023, again from the #library… I’m never going to get the owned heap down at this rate! Actually before this I tried to read A Scots Quair - it is now looking for a new home as the writing is fell awful.
Anyway, this was interesting. Good analysis of how “meritocracy” is actually quite shitty, less good at proposing remedies (or maybe I was getting tired/bored by then).

My local library will help you with computers, genealogy, book groups and you can work there, study, join various groups or just sit quietly and read. The children's section has really good story tellers and there is a music library.
I cannot afford to buy books as often as I did when younger so libraries are a lifeline for folk like me.
