OK, #rant time 😤
The #9now app on #AppleTV / #tvOS is significantly different from the app on #iOS, and both are… fantastically suboptimal 🤪
Subtitles can be toggled on iOS app, but not on tvOS app (so on tvOS a really fundamental #accessibility feature is missing). Lucky those legislated accessibility requirements for broadcasters don’t apply to streaming content, hey? 😡
Neither app has a PiP option, which for the #olympics is just a completely obvious missed opportunity. Why not let people have 3 or 4 other channels running at potato resolution with an ability to quickly switch between channels when something you’re waiting to watch pops up? Why is the bar set so unbelievably low? 🤔
As it is, switching between their live streams is a painful process of many button-presses in tvOS. Switching between live streams on iOS is… not too bad, but here they trip over their own feet again by advertising ‘9 livestreams’ for athletics, but when you tap through to this cornucopia of options you find out that what they actually mean is 3 livestreams… with 6 more scheduled to start at various times over the evening and overnight… 💁♀️
AND… no ability to scrub back on either app! None. Just… 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Just such a poor job of basic functionality, crap #UX & #UI, and missing really obvious features for allegedly ‘top tier content’ that they’ve obviously spent a fortune on for rights in the YOOL 2024 🫠

Has anyone in #Australia been able to watch replays or highlights from the Olympics on the #9Now app?
If we try to watch anything other than a live event we get "a network error".
