#Bleedingedge by Thomas #Pynchon is by far not his best novel, but it is great in capturing the inherent trauma that 9/11 caused to New York citizens (or Americans in general) and also in describing the different reactions and conspiracy narratives surrounding it. Even if its humour sometimes seems over the top.

Erstaunlich, wie weit weg dieser Tag inzwischen ist. Gar nicht so sehr, was das Geschehene angeht, sondern die Rückschau auf die Gefühle, die ich den USA damals gegenüber hatte. Die Dimension der Solidarität war so gewaltig. Das erste Mal diese Unsicherheit: sehe ich da einen Actionfilm oder die Realität? Ein Gefühl, dass sich in letzter Zeit heimisch fühlt in unserer Welt. Gegen Putin, Trump, Corona,, Nazis und Klimawandel kommt einem #911Memorial ja beinahe wie eine Kleinigkeit vor.

ca. ein halbes Jahr vorher war ich in #newyork und konnte einen wundervollen Schnappschuss machen (naja eigentlich war es meine damalige Freundin 😉)

Mein erster Gedanke das klingt spannend, was für einen Film schaut der sich an. Es dauerte einige Zeit bis ich realisierte das ist kein Film das ist real.
