There are many places in the #ElectricGuitar world where people ask how they can ridiculously #downtune they instrument e.g. what string gauges to use for #DropF or #DropG on a 6 string... I was faced with that question when trying to find a guitar for #AllFifthsTuning (FCGAE spanning almost 3 octaves) and turns out #OrmsbyGuitars have the perfect answer with a 6 string sporting a ridiculous 25.5-27.5'' fanfret

I spoiled myself a bit 😋
I got two “extreme-range” guitars: a 7-string and an 8-string.Now I’m experimenting with re-arranging classic thrash riffs by shifting the entire tuning down, playing 6-string parts on the lower strings to give them a heavier, modern sound.
It’s fun to mix music with my tech side. Creativity helps both worlds 🤘

Another attempt at recording my Solarpunk-themed symphonic metal album. The frustrating issue: even after 20+ years on guitar and 4 years on an eight string guitar, I'm still far too messy a player to make clean enough recordings. Oh well, but then I think: what could be more punk than a bit of dirt and jank on the guitar tracks? We ain't recording Animals as Leaders over here, people...
