So instead of doing my study in C Programming...I played 7 Days to Die for hours. Secured a desert base by the river and very close to Trader Bob (the Vehicle specialist). Did all the tasks that allowed me to create the gear which would stop the negative debuff being in the desert would cause me.
Like, I don't know how a Sunshine Tonic would keep sand from clogging your lungs, but it would keep you cool...At least for a few minutes before the oil shale causes complications one couldn't survive.
ROFLMAO This game is just so weird in that respect.
I will probably live in the Desert full time, and travel to the other biomes from there. As the desert is pretty, a little annoying due to the Rancher zombies which spit bees (once again, weird).
Ugh, I still need to wash my dishes and fold my clothing before bed. Totally forgot, as I didn't intend to get this sucked into the game.

I've attained plenty of progress, the following things were made: Minibike, Machete Tier 1, Athletic Armor Set Tier 2, Handgun Tier 4, Smoke Gear. Working on getting a 44 Magnum and an Iron Crossbow because these would be huge upgrades for my character in 7 Days to Die.
My goal is to get into the Desert before securing the next base because I don't plan on staying in the Pine Forest forever. The minibike has allowed me to delay my move a lot longer than normal! Hoping to secure a base that has an outdoor pool in the desert in order to have an easy supply of water for all my activities.
I do have to take a brief break before continuing a bit longer before learning more C related programming.

So far, based on my settings, on Day 7...I will be fully prepared to deal with the challenges of this 7 Days to Die world. While I am still riding a bicycle, my skills are higher than what they would be for the early game (which is due to changing how many skill points I get per level) it feels a bit more balanced. Given how tanky certain zombies are, my weapons/armor are gradually scaling with my enhanced stats, so I will still experience a natural scaling of power. I think that if I don't invest in other skill trees, I will have a lot of wasted skill points though. Which means, that I will probably expand my build a bit.
Instead of a narrow spread. I won't grab any weapon skills, just non-offense related perks within all the trees to augment my ability. As during the apocalypse one has nothing but time to hone their survival skills...

The sandbox settings I chose make the game feel fairly nice, I might boost the difficulty slightly to offset my advantages. So far, this game is going pretty well, found a home far away from the city...Reasonably close to Rekt the first trader. Doing quests for the smarmy git because levels and loot are needed before I deal with a more polite Jenn.
Playing with biome progress despite not being a total fan of it. The items necessary to combat biome effects temporarily seem like potions rather than grounded solutions. As this game skews a bit towards realistic tendencies aside from those few zombies that have magic-lite rather than mutation abilities.

Anyone playing #7dtd #7DaysToDie ?
Been playing on and off for about 6 years, sometimes with friends but mostly single player. Was feeling the urge to play with people again (my gaming buddies are too entrenched in ESO lol) so tried a couple public servers.
The first one seemed active, was on day 314 when I joined and a couple very friendly players gifted me some armour and weapons and invited me to their base for horde night. It was really fun (HOW many zombies?!) and exciting, until the base owner threw a hissy fit because he didn't get the most kills and locked everyone in, preventing us from leaving and looting bags. An argument developed in chat and I just left. Don't need that drama.
2nd one was on day 13 when I joined but no-one else was around so left as I didn't want to advance them to day 14 if they weren't online to take part. Posted on their discord, no response, so I guess pretty dead.
3rd one was on day 164 when I joined, set about gathering resources and base building, said hello in chat but no response, turn got accused of copying someones base (it was a build I found on YouTube that has proven to work and is my go to, so wasn't even their idea lol) and kicked off.
So I'm looking for a chill group to join that none of the above 😁 I'm guessing that anyone using Mastadon is going to be awesome to game with!
I'm in the UK and usually game between 6pm and 10pm, sometimes more in the day if work is slow, more on a Sunday.

Reached some of the goals for my 7 Days to Die save: Found enough Forged Ahead magazines to unlock the Workbench. Got a lot of parts, and can likely figure out if I can craft a bike or not next play session.
I can hope to find a Vehicle Storage mod schematic for future usage.
I'll check out the car POI in the starting town that I currently reside in and if I can't find it there...I'll get started with moving into the Burnt Forest the hard way!

I think this reach progression milestones and move forward to new biomes is the going to make my game feel fun again. As I liked to stay in one POI and travel only when necessary.
My end goal will be settling down in the Wasteland biome and travel for additional resources when needed. I'd probably set up in a tall building and make it zombie proof with a land claim and traps!

I think Biome Progression won't be too onerous a thing in this run, because I know what to expect and am getting ready for the trek to the Burnt Forest. As I've got to get enough Forged Ahead to craft a Workbench, since I found enough Vehicle Adventures to craft a bike.
Once this is done, moving base will be possible.

Its weird but all I want to do after getting home is play 7 Days to Die, as that game has me once again. Despite the flawed gameplay elements. I think the Perception and Intellect build is compelling enough that I want to play.
The last build I played was a strong Pugilist, who occasionally pulled out his machine gun. That was a bit too easy for me.
Just a few hours of my shift to go.

Going to change up my normal gameplay with 7 Days to Die. Once my gear is up to snuff, doing night raids is going to be a thing that I do. Also, after getting the minibike, I'll begin moving into new biomes over time as I unlock new traders and create the progression gear.
As a change of pace, I'm running a Perception and Intellect build that is not my go-to. I favor Fortitude and Agility. That's going to make my day to day gameplay different!

It's cool that Glass Jars are back, but, they work really weird. They still have that issue of by default getting destroyed after drinking water, coffee, or assorted teas (unless you set the recovery rate to 100%). What's really weird is that the Dew Collector and Apiary just magically create them...
However, outside of aforementioned methods of obtaining cheeky jars, finding them in loot or buying from traders...The player needs a crucible to make glass jars, which is really far up in the tech tree. The Fun Pimps always felt that glass jars hurt water survival in their game.
What the actual issue is: they didn't consider how to make water survival an issue until the player reached a high tech level.
Given that there was a use of nuclear weapons in the location that the player exists in...They could've made water survival more intricate by making us purify water in stages. Different types of processed water, would be less or more hydrating depending on the methods used. They could have secondary impacts on player health that would need to be managed in order to stay healthy and hydrated.
Alas, this was too much work for them.
