#7BandsToKnowMe / #7AlbumsToKnowMe are hard because I they change like, every year. My answers now are *vastly* different than even 5 years ago. Here’s what they are atm. Just gonna combine them since there’s so much overlap.

#SilversunPickups - Widow’s Weeds
#ZealAndArdor - Zeal and Ardor
#AesopRock - Skelethon
#MeWithoutYou - Brother, Sister (or maybe [Untitled]
#Dessa - A Badly Broken Code
#AnimalsAsLeaders - Parrhesia (or maybe Joy of Motion)
#Deftones - Diamond Eyes

#7BandsToKnowMe Well, as ever, this will no doubt change slightly in an hour or so but in the effervescent NOW & being strict on the idea of BANDS that have shaped my musical language: #Coil #Crass #AcidMothersTemple #Orbital #TheCure #Faust #Spacemen3 // odd when I thought of this that a lot of my current faves are solo artists and / or female but I guess music gradually broadens out, like a perverse fan(boy).

I feel like this list is my historical top list and would probably be a lot different if I did a current one

- The National
- Oasis
- Matthew Good (Band)
- Radiohead
- Bloc Party
- Stone Temple Pilots
- The Verve

#7BandsToKnowMe

#ChildrenOnStun
#Indochine

I angsted quite a lot over this, in particular whether or not to include #FadGadget and #NineInchNails (who are technically bands but often referred to as solo projects). So I hope some good comes of it.

(Spoiler: it won't)
