  1. #sx1255 pi hat new action with zmq_proxy and soapysdrserver

    Almost works!

Another pi can find it with soapysdrutil --find
But #gqrx too heavy for a pi zero 2 hardware

  2. A quick mod in a ne(to me) style and yet another MD59 has moved to the 9̶0̶c̶m̶ 70cm amateur band.
This one was Televa branded, which makes it especially neat.

  3. Additionally, before I had a play on 23cms, my good friend @DafyddJack activated the summit on #2m and #70cm using just a couple of older mono-band handhelds he picked up for a bargain price. Using just a whip antenna, he managed to work a station in Lockerbie in Scotland!

  5. @IU1KGS I agree, even in my small fishers village #antwerp we have a few multi kilowatt old timers abusing the weak signal modes.

I am on 10 meter ft8 now, nobody keen to work me, but pskreporter tells me I am heard.

In general I do not like HF because of the attitudes. 23cm and qo100 are my thing.

Well, that was before #lora #aprs on #70cm fun began.

  6. @DO3BN and I made a joint activation of #SOTA DM/SX-029 Großer Zschirnstein (#WWFF DLFF-1068, #POTA DE-0875, DE-0785) today on #40m in #morsecode, #15m in #FT8 as well as #2m and #70cm in #FM. The pileups were nice - the weather after the activation not so much, but we were adequately clothed. #HamRadio #SummitsOnTheAir #ParksOnTheAir #Amateurfunk #qrp #elecraftkx2 #qmx #hiking #mountains #Saxony

  7. #hamradio

Found out the hard way today that those #lilygo devices like T-Beam have wifi, but not on 5GHz

Good news is that 1 station received my beacons from work qth ground floor, small aerial for #70cm that came with the device.

Wonder what freq on 2 and 23 and 13 cm we can use for #lora and #loraaprs

Today for the first time my igate got on to the general aprs.fi map!

  9. As soon as I arrived on today's first summit the rain stopped: Quirl #POTA DE-0882, DE-0785 (#WWFF DLFF-1068, #GMA DA/SX-192) was followed by Pfaffenstein #POTA DE-0882, DE-0875 (#WWFF DLFF-0745, #GMA DA/SX-295). A big thank you to all the callers for the nice pileup on #40m #ssb while on Quirl - that is something I'm not really used to. And I liked it! #SaxonSwitzerland #Saxony #HamRadio #Amateurfunk #hiking #mountains #qrp #morsecode #20m #2m #70cm #fm #ParksOnTheAir #elecraftkx2 #efhw

  10. I combined testing my new 60 L backpack (fully loaded) on a short but steep hike with the #2m and #70cm #fm activation of Windberg Freital (#GMA DA/SX-045). The weather stayed nice and the walk was worth it - no problems with the backpack. #HamRadio #Amateurfunk #qrp #hiking #mountains

  11. Normally I strictly refrain from abusing the summit cross as a fixation for my #antenna mast. But this time on #SOTA DM/SX-109 Steinberg (#WWFF DLFF-0056, #POTA DE-0040) the distance to the bench fit so perfectly for my #20m #efhw that I couldn’t resist. #HamRadio #SummitsOnTheAir #ParksOnTheAir #Amateurfunk #qrp #qcxmini #morsecode #hiking #mountains #2m #70cm #fm

  12. Small scale portable participation in the #VHF #UHF #contest in unpleasant weather yielded in 17 QSOs on #2m and 5 QSOs on #70cm.

  13. I’m currently working with the #DM7A team from JO60OM (Hirtstein in the #OreMountains) in the #DARC #vhf #uhf #shf #contest - we are #QRV on #2m #70cm #23cm and up. There is still plenty of time to work us. Just ask for a #sked on ON4KST #chat. The weather is getting better again… #HamRadio #Amateurfunk #ssb #cw #S07 #iaru

  14. Another suggestion for a sunny winter walk in the Saxonian Switzerland: Kleiner Bärenstein (#GMA DA/SX-050, #WWFF DLFF-1068, #POTA DE-0882) starting in Königstein. Go by train and use the #Deutschlandticket for a relaxing experience. #HamRadio #Amateurfunk #qrp #2m #70cm #fm #hiking #mountains #ParksOnTheAir saechsische-schweiz.de/wanderu

  15. If you wanna do #HamRadio / #AmateurRadio at the same while doing #WarDrive things you need to filter out the low 2m/70cm (140/440mhz) freq from blowing up the WarDrive rig. #WiFi #Wigle #Yaesu #2m #70cm

The Yaesu #FTM500 is 50W of TX power.

    It’s still a risk.

But we shall see how it all does.

  16. Walking through the Saxonian Switzerland in winter the least you can do as a ham is bring along a handheld transceiver and activate for a couple of minutes: Brand mountain (#GMA DA/SX-054, #WWFF DLFF-0012, #POTA DE-0050) at -3 °C, light snowfall and 3 bft of wind. Enjoy #Saxony and relax! #HamRadio #Amateurfunk #qrp #2m #70cm #fm #hiking #mountains #ParksOnTheAir

  17. @bolderbekah @elmiller0330 @ai6yr
Traveling with my #yaesu #ht #FT5 #HamRadio. bag was pulled off security conveyor belt and opened.
#TSA agent pulls out my #magnetic mount, 1/4 wave, dual band #2m / #70cm #antenna with the #coax wound around the base.
    TSA agent: “what’s this?”
    Me: “an antenna”
TSA agent to the agent running the X-ray: “it’s an antenna!”
I stuff it back in my bag and head to my gate. This is the first and only time this has happened.

  18. Just handed over a #70cm yagi antenna (plus some coax stuff) to a young ham. After 7 years of lying around it will help to increase #UHF QSO numbers hopefully.

  19. So… bored today… we use a CC2538 MCU at work for a product, and I'm very conscious of how tight this thing is for resources, and the fact that TI have been making it since 2013.

Some day it'll be no more. Naturally, I spent a day looking at OpenThread's supported list of MCUs and working out a shortlist.

Looking at the TI CC1352P… there's several bands supported, including:
    - 2360-2500MHz
    - 861-1054MHz
    - 359-527MHz hello #70cm
    - 143-176MHz hello #2m

Two of them, overlap nicely in the 2m and 70cm #AmateurRadio bands.

Now, I can use this to send GFSK-modulated data, but in theory also, I could just make it emit a carrier and use it as a local oscillator… Hmm…

  20. With the very short activation of #SOTA DM/SX-085 Collm (only 5 QSOs in total on #70cm in #FM and #40m in #morsecode) I finally managed to earn the "Activated Entire Region" bagde for the DM/SX region in the #SummitsOnTheAir program.
Why that short? Take a look at the pictures: A major thunderstorm front was rushing towards me.
And what's so special about Collm? It's the oldest mountain in #Saxony. Visit it to find out more!
